I’ll say it again — Imitation will always be the most important skill you should strengthen with any child who is in speech therapy because almost everything we teach is dependent on a child repeating what we say — new vocabulary, new speech sounds, even new actions for targeting receptive language and motor imitation for play skills. Determine what a child can’t easily imitate and start there.
