Some parts of Michigan are exempt from the new work requirements for food assistance — and others are not. Here’s how to tell what applies to you.

If you permanently reside in one of these exempt counties or cities, you do not need to fulfill new work requirements and will receive SNAP benefits as usual:

📍 Counties: Alcona, Alger, Arenac, Cheboygan, Iosco, Iron, Luce, Mackinac, Montmorency, Oceana, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Presque Isle, Roscommon, Schoolcraft

🏙️ Cities: Bay City, Detroit, Eastpointe, Flint, Jackson, Saginaw
If you do NOT permanently reside in one of these areas, you may need to meet work requirements or meet an exemption. Many people still meet exemptions based on caregiving, health, school, and many more.

If you do not meet the requirements or meet an exemption, your SNAP benefits may be limited to three months every three years.

Walk With Peer 360 in the Bay City St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
Peer 360 Recovery Alliance is excited to once again participate in the Bay City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, alongside our community partners Bay County Prevention Network and Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center.
We invite you to join us as we walk together and celebrate community during one of Bay City’s favorite traditions.

📍 Meet Location: Old Family Video Parking Lot – Center Rd, Bay City
⏰ Meet Time: 1:00 PM
🎉 Parade Begins: 2:00 PM
Please arrive by 1:00 PM to avoid road closures.
💚 Wear your Peer 360 gear if you have it and please dress for the weather — it can get very cold!
🚶 We ask that everyone sign up ahead of time so we know how many walkers to plan for.
