You can thank the Republicans surrounding our Senate once again for tabling the discussion on medical/ medicinal ma*****na!
The ignorance of these people is absolutely astounding! Claiming that ma*****na is addictive is stupidity and factually incorrect! There are no compounds in the cannabis plant that are addictive in nature in any form. Another woman claims it will increase our crime rates to legalize medical cannabis... This is almost laughable if it wasn't so blatantly ignorant and one sided. To the contrary, legalizing the use of medicinal cannabis actually allows people choice rather than forcing them out of our community to obtain cannabis products illegally. A high ranking officer claims legalizing medicinal cannabis will make it more available for children in our community this almost had me on the floor laughing. With age limits placed on these dispensaries children will not of course be allowed to purchase or enter these facilities, and it could actually reduce risk of exposure from adults obtaining these products illicitly or in a potentially dangerous manner. The sheer lack of knowledge and intelligent decision making should be more than enough proof for you that the people making decisions for you at the capital have absolutely no clue what they're talking about when it comes to cannabis. We are now surrounded on three sides with legal cannabis use States. 21 states in the US have some form of either recreational or medicinal cannabis use laws. Kansas leadership just continues to drag their feet. You need to reach out to your Senate leadership and let them know we are missing the boat on legalizing cannabis!
