There’s something so special about inviting a photographer into the space you’ve poured your whole heart into. It’s this mix of feeling a little exposed and a lot of magic—seeing your own journey reflected back through someone else’s lens.📸
Last Saturday, I had the honor of having Chase Stine photograph and film my new office, and honestly… he blew me away. He captured the intention, the energy, and the vibe of the space in a way that went beyond anything I imagined.
Huge thank you to my two amazing volunteers , Kenzie & Amanda —you helped bring the vision to life in the most beautiful, authentic way.
What some people may not know is that this moment… this space… this feeling of everything aligning… it didn’t come easy.
It in fact was a whole 11 years of trial, error, courage, and trust. In myself. In the process. In the universe.
Since 2014, I’ve worked in so many environments—starting with a small office space I shared with my mom, then Massage Heights, Massage Envy, a private room, a shared room, and all that to say I knew I would never share a room or work for a corporate-style environment again, but I started to dream of a safe co shared space with multiple therapists.
I also worked at the Reset Chiropractic office in Ankeny, where I happily worked alongside my husband Parker Brownlee for a year. We actually met back at Body Wisdom Massage Therapy School . He was 19 and I was 18. We became friends and have been getting closer ever since.
I discovered my need for a financial advisor and a personal + business coach. I knew that just a tax accountant and one business class was not enough.
I was always learning all kinds of new techniques through continuing education , trying to work out what I really wanted internally and externally. As well as refining the skills I already had.
I also spent those formative career years doing chair and table massage at all kinds of events: hospital, markets, Ladies’ Day, festivals, RAGBRAI, schools, offices, and more. Every environment taught me something different about people, energy, healing, and myself. Each shift revealed a new piece of who I wanted to be as a practitioner, a local q***r woman-owned small business, and a human.
Eventually, through my own healing, trauma, boundaries, education, and growth, I discovered my ideal client… was a lot like me. I knew what I needed, what helped me regulate, what made me feel safe—and those were the very things my clients loved and responded to.
somehow, after all these years, I’ve come full circle—back in the same building where I graduated, just on the other side. The timing, the space, the community… it all clicked exactly when it was meant to.
My favorite compliment ever was when someone first said to me, “You have good energy.”
I carry that with me every single day, and it was one of the things that got me thinking about what I provide and what I want to fully embody.
Dianna Berry was also a huge part of my awakening to the teacher side of me and embracing that in myself. I have eternal gratitude for you. You truly feel like a mom figure to me in so many ways and that in itself was tremendously healing.
I haven’t shared much about the behind-the-scenes of my journey as I was truly finding my own footing and navigating fears in a lot of ways still but that changes now. I’m stepping fully into my purpose-driven mission—to help ground and heal the nervous system.
My practice has become rooted in somatic, trauma-informed massage therapy, sound healing, spa techniques, and teaching sustainable self-care to my clients and the public. I loove to work events like festivals, markets, small parties, local business pop ups, and open houses.
I am guided by a vision that feels clearer now more than ever, and I am genuinely the most grateful I’ve ever been in my career.
Grateful for the support, the love I feel every day in different ways, the community I surround myself with, the clients who trust me, and the opportunities I said “yes” and “no” to—because they all led me right here.
I cannot wait to share more of this journey with you.
Here are a few sneak peeks of what Chase captured so beautifully. ✨
