After missing our NICU celebration due to illness, this little one and her parents were finally able to visit with the team who cared for her. The timing made it even more special as she had just celebrated her first birthday. ๐ŸŽ‚

Today is Bobby and Alda Benefield's 65th wedding anniversary. Both have been receiving care in the hospital on different floors, but for a moment today, that distance disappeared.

Our remarkable team made it possible to bring them togetherโ€”side by side, hand in handโ€”so they could celebrate their anniversary the only way that mattered: together. ๐Ÿ’•

Their love story spans 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Sixty-five years later, that love is still strongโ€”and today, it filled the room.

Moments like this remind us that care is about more than medicine. Itโ€™s about connection, compassion, and honoring the people behind the patient.

This advancement is powered by strong local partnerships. ๐Ÿ’ช A huge shoutout to SGMC Health Emergency Services, LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, and our dedicated law enforcement officers, fire departments, and first responders who train and respond together every day to protect our communities.
