This is peak week for Vikara's own Stephanie Mazella! She is competing in her first natural bikini competition in Virginia this Saturday. She has built a strong foundation mentally, physically, and spiritually, and her confidence is beaming. She has kept her mind's eye on what it will feel like to be on the stage. So excited for her!

How do you travel? Are you at the whims of airport food and whatever they serve at the convention center?

Or do you plan ahead and bring your own food when you travel?

I just returned from one of our company annual events and I do plan for my trips now. I make my own trail mixes and measure them out and snack baggies. I bring foods that are easily digestible, and that will travel easy as well. When I order meals for the majority I always look at getting as many veggies as possible and/or a salad with a vinegar dressing on the side.

As we near the end of 2016, I'd like to shout out a few recognitions to three of our Vikara Tribe Incredible Members! Lauren started training with the Vikara Tribe in June 2016 and competed in her first WBNF bikini competition in November 2016. Caroline started training with the Vikara Tribe in May 2016 and did her first fitness and bikini photo shoot in October 2016. Wendy started training in January 2016 and competed in two competitions this year - June & October. The speed of our goals does not matter as much as who we become along the way and what we learn about ourselves. I am so excited to finish 2016 strong and start 2017 even stronger, it is such an honor to be on this journey with each of you!

Squeezed in one more training session before Christmas. Feels so good to get some sweat equity done at the gym when all I really feel like is eating gingerbread and drinking egg nog.

By keeping our health and fitness momentum going through the holidays, it is easier to get back into full swing for the new year. It makes it harder when we stop working out completely to restart. Even one to two days a week at the gym over the holidays is better than none at all.

Join us for the new year as we begin to prep for the 2017 competition season. We have room for a few more ladies in our Vikara Tribe. Whether you are training for first competition or training to look like you are competing, we can help you with your mind/body/soul goals.

Staying fit and healthy over the holidays. In my opinion the holidays are some of the most challenging times to keep ourselves on track, meaning healthy and fit. Many of us trained for the majority of the year and competed in a few competitions. We desire some down time during our 'off' season. The question is how much down time and how far do we allow ourselves to go off track before we completely undo everything we worked so hard for?

I call this "finding our happy medium". Allowing ourselves a moderate amount of cheats and days off from the gym yet not falling off completely from everything. The best advice I can give is to set an immediate goal within a few days of your stage day. Then hold yourself accountable for the commitment. When our "why" is stronger than any excuse then we stick to our plan. No one desires to start over and be back where they were before they started training. Although this can happen and it's not the end of the word. Wouldn't it make more sense to keep a level of commitment and continue to build upon the healthy lifestyle we have created?

Each time Week find new ways to train your heart, your body for stamina, strength and power and stretches for increased range of motion of injury prevention. Fuel yourself with quality foods every 3 hours that you are awake and drink one gallon of water. You got this! 👍🙏👊👙👄
