Stillness isn’t passive.
It’s where the system resets.

I used to think rest meant doing nothing.
Now I see it as deep work- the kind that doesn’t show up in trackers or to-do lists, but shifts everything beneath the surface.

The body stops bracing.
The mind stops solving.
And what’s left is recovery.
Clarity.
Real regulation.

Most people wait for a crisis to stop.
I’m learning to stop before one.

: The Crisis Hiding in Plain Sight

For too long, we’ve addressed workplace stress from the top down. Through policies, wellness programs, and leadership initiatives. Yet, how much has really changed?

Stress, burnout, and emotional disconnection remain pervasive.

It’s time for a new approach, one that begins with us, the individual.

Here’s the truth: what we often label as “mental health issues” are, at their core, challenges of emotional health. Emotional health forms the foundation of how we think, feel, and respond. When it’s neglected, the ripple effects are felt everywhere, our mental well-being, physical health, and workplace culture all suffer.

This is why I’m building the Emotional Health Index (EHI), a research initiative designed to redefine how we approach emotional health. Not from the boardroom down, but from the ground up.

Yet, as I reach out to senior leaders to spark conversations about emotional health, I’m met with indifference, inaction, layers of approval or worse, silence.

Why is this the case?

If well-being is something we all claim to value, why is emotional health so often a low priority? Why are we hesitant to engage in a course of action that could sustainably improve both individual and organizational well-being?

The EHI is not about monetization or quick fixes. It’s grounded in the belief that education and self-awareness drive lasting behavior change, a cornerstone for better health.

The EHI will build awareness and empower individuals to take charge of their well-being by focusing on the four pillars of health:
• Nourishment
• Movement
• Relaxation
• Mindfulness

These pillars are the foundation of emotional regulation and overall well-being, yet they’re often overlooked in the rush of daily work life.

The EHI offers actionable insights and long-term solutions, not temporary measures.

But I can’t do this alone.

Here’s where you come in:
• Take the EHI Survey: https://thebalancedbandwagon.com/
• Share it within your organization
• Repost this message on your professional or personal networks

Together, we can create a culture where emotional health isn’t an afterthought but a priority.

If this resonates with you, let’s connect. If you feel you can help, I’d love that. If you would like to have a conversation about how we can make build emotional health in our workplaces and in our lives, I would welcome that too.

For those of you who have already taken the survey- a big thank you. Once the research is complete and I am ready with the index, I will reach out to you personally to share your assessment and chat about what you could do more of and less of in your own personal health journey’s.

Are You “Too Busy” for Your Health?

How often do you catch yourself saying, “I’m too busy to work out,” or “Life’s been so hectic, I haven’t had time to eat well or get a good night’s sleep”?

These phrases often cover up a deeper truth: Are you truly too busy, or are you simply not making your health a priority?

I learned this lesson myself. Years ago, “being too busy” meant skipping workouts, eating on the go, and ignoring stress. I was unintentionally choosing to sideline my health. It wasn’t until the effects started adding up that I realized I had the time—I just wasn’t making my well-being a priority.

Now, whenever I’m tempted to say, “I’m too busy,” I stop and ask: What am I choosing over my health? Is it a genuine priority, or am I letting busyness become an excuse? Shifting my perspective has helped me focus on wellness, embrace habits that keep me balanced, and stay energized.

Next time you think, “I’m too busy for my health,” pause and reflect:
• Is your well-being truly unimportanIf so, be honest about what that choice will mean.
• Do you value your health? If yes, commit to it—even in small, manageable ways.
• Do others rely on you? If so, remember that neglecting your health can impact not only you but those who count on you.

You’re never too busy for what truly matters—and few things matter more than your .

What’s one small step you can take today to prioritize it?
