It’s here! My first pattern printed on a tea towel 🌹
It’s so cool to be able to hold something I created in my own two hands.
I’m learning so much from Pattern Play workshop. The inspiration for March was “Heirloom Cottage” and I’m looking forward to see what is in store for April 🙌🏼

I promised myself to design and share one greeting card every month for the rest of the year to keep myself motivated and working towards my goal. I’m going to try to do the same thing to pattern design too!

This is a cheer-you-up card that features Nugget, one of the first (and best) chickens I ever had. Hope it makes you smile 😊

Have you ever dehydrated sourdough starter? It’s super easy- you don’t even need a fancy dehydrator! This is an excellent way to sell, gift or travel with your starter. You can store it as a back up for yourself too and it will literally last forever….Like it might outlive us all in the apocalypse and then zombies can use it to make bomb ass bread. 🍞 🧟‍♀️🤪

Oh hi, remember me? 🙋🏼‍♀️

It’s been a while guys, but I’m back and so excited to announce a change in direction for this page and for my life as well 🎉

Don’t get me wrong-I still really enjoy all things health/wellness related and still apply it to my every day life and maybe I’ll sprinkle some in here and there on my page moving forward. Buttttttt….

I’m finally going to make strides to achieve a secret dream of mine to become a full time artist/designer and children’s book author!!!!

Now you may not know this about me, but I have a background in photography, creative marketing and graphic design. It’s what I did before becoming a stay at home mama 7 years ago. And while being a parent is super rewarding and amazing, I’ve found myself missing my creative side. I day dream about finally illustrating my children’s books, selling my greeting cards in stores and using the pattern design skills I’m learning in various ways. I imagine myself making a living off my art and helping pay off some of our debt too. I envision my children’s books on the shelves on the local library.

I see it all so clearly but I don’t make moves. I stand in my own way and make excuses. There’s not enough time in the day, I don’t sleep enough because my toddler woke me up, etc. It’s so hard to balance motherhood with taking care of myself. It seems impossible to prioritize my dreams when I’m running the farmstand or maintaining the house chores or doing drop off or making lunches or what have you.

But I really want to try. I want to get my creative spark back and this feels like the year that I’m finally going to do it ✨

So bye for now to Rollin’ with the Beets and say hello to Dear Milly Makes. Watch me learn new skills, make art, crafts and goods with my hands and heart and prove to myself that it’s never too late to go after your dreams 🧡🎨📝👩🏼‍🎨

Suuuuuuper easy Christmas craft to do with the kids- A handprint wreath!🌲🫶🏻

All you need is:

-Green paper
-pen or pencil
-tiny hands to trace
-scissors
-glue
Bonus items: red pom balls and ribbon

First trace a couple hands on one piece of paper. Stack like 4-5 pieces of paper behind it and hold tight while you cut out the hand. You’ll get lots of little hands!

Then arrange in a circle and glue into place. I have multiple kids, so I like to glue the large hands in place first then make a second layer on smaller hands on top.

Next, add on your embellishments. You can add glitter, ribbons, red poms to make holly, or whatever you’d like.

Once it’s dry, hang it up or give it as a gift! (Grandparents go crazy for stuff like this)

Don’t have kids? Use your own hands!
Don’t want to cut? Dip hands in green paint and arrange in a circle on a white paper.

The possibilities are endless! Happy making ✨

Hand stamped ornaments are such easy and cost friendly gifts for loved ones that can be personalized and made right at home. No need for a kiln!

You can make salt dough with ingredients found in your pantry, or use oven bake polymer clay. Then all you need is a rolling pin, stamps and some creativity.

Happy making!

Currently obsessed with pickled anything in this house... especially onions! 🧅
We have literally been inhaling them and putting them on everything. SO freaking good and SO easy to make. Here’s how:

Ingredients-

•1 Red Onion
•1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
•1 tablespoon sugar
•1.5 teaspoons salt
•1 cup hot water (not boiled)

Directions-

1. Slice red onion thinly with knife carefully or use a mandolin.
2. Stuff a large clean jar full of onions, but leave a little room at the top.
3. In a separate container mix ACV, water, salt and sugar together.
4. Pour mixture into onion jar and make sure the onions are fully covered.
5. Secure lid onto jar and set on counter for at least one hour.
6. After an hour, refrigerate and enjoy for up to 3 weeks.

(But they won’t last that long, that’s how good they are 🙌🏼)

We are getting 4 eggs a day now, which means there’s only one hen not laying yet this season... A little lady named Nugget. She just so happens to be our loudest and most dramatic chicken who is usually getting herself into trouble. I can’t wait until she joins the others- I bet her egg song is going to be so extra 💃🤣🐓🎶
