Allison's Super Fun Wellness Group It's time to get serious about making health and wellness a FUN experience! It only takes one small change to make a difference in your quality of life.

Every day we seek health and happiness. Will you join us? Allison Drury, MPH, CHC has been a health & wellness advocate for over 18 years, with experience as a health educator, writer & producer, public speaker and coach. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Health Nutrition from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a New York Times Fellow for the Columbia University Aging Center. As a certified Health & Wellness Coach, Allison coaches clients, teaches group seminars & workshops, and is a freelance health & wellness writer. She owns two Pilates studios in Southern California and is mom of two little kids.

One of my intentions for this year is to do more things and challenge myself. And I've heard from some of you that you're ready to move the needle, too. To that end, I'm excited to share that this group is changing and growing into something new to support you better.

The new focus is on Action and Accountability. My goal is to create a space for all of us to support each other with goals, actions steps, and motivation for any behavior change you're working on, not just health! So if you want to be a better parent or grow your business, this is for you. If you want to eat more veggies or reduce your cholesterol, this is for you. Let's make this year about stressing less, doing more and feeling motivated.

On Sunday, the group will become private instead of public so that we can comment and post in the circle of trust. Please invite your trusted friends, family or colleagues to join. There will be a short question to answer so we maintain the integrity of the group.

I'll post some discussion starters and keep us moving forward. Your posts and comments are just as important. Let's see what we can do together! As my son says, "Let's Go!"

Day 16 of the advent was Plank for Prizes! And I quote, “Mom, I’m more of a prankster than a plankstar.” Yes honey, you are! 😍🤣

The challenge is divided into 2 parts:

1. 1-minute good form
2. 3-minute minimum push

Prizes are fun holiday trinkets from the dollar store. And of course, bragging rights. 😇

Luke held his plank for 6 minutes 💪 and he credits , our amazing P.E. teacher, for inspiring him! So proud of both kids. 👏 See them in action in my story.

It's the most wonderful time of the year again as I with my 24 days of , , , and (can't forget those!). I'll be posting here and in my stories throughout the month.

Each day follows one of the 5 themes above. My goal is to remind my kids that the holidays are about more than opening presents. In my ideal world, December is a time to review the hits and misses from the year, get a jump start on building new habits, and be of service to others.

This year's theme is "favorites" -- the tried and true hits from 2021 with a holiday twist. Here's a quick peek of what's coming up this week -- join in with us and tag your posts with !

I always start off day 1 with a toy-themed advent calendar so the kids have something fun to open each day while they participate in new experiences. This is a popular behavior-change technique called "pairing." (It works for adults, too!)

Day 1: toy advent (gift)
Day 2: holiday glow-in-the-dark pajamas (holiday, gift)
Day 3: thank you letter (service)
Day 4: plank for prizes (health)
Day 5: tree decoration (holiday, family)
Day 6: holiday book (holiday, gift)
