Let go of what you can't control; own what you can.
When the weight of the world's uncertainties feels overwhelming, remember this: You have the power to find calm within the chaos. The secret? Focus on what you can control.
1. Start by bringing awareness to your own thoughts. Practice mindfulness, and gently steer your mind away from the endless "what ifs" and toward the present moment. Your thoughts are your ship's helm; guide them wisely.
2. Take charge of your actions, too. Break overwhelming tasks into manageable steps, and tackle them one by one. When we are in our anxious brain, breaking tasks to manageable baby steps helps bring a sense of order and control to our brain.
3. Speak kindly to yourself; the words you use can be a lifeline. Encourage and reassure yourself in times of doubt.
4. Emotions, like the tide, ebb and flow. Acknowledge your feelings without judgment. Embrace self-compassion and remember that feelings are temporary, like passing clouds.
5. Lastly, behavior shapes our journey. Cultivate healthy habits that nurture your mental well-being. Exercise, breathe deeply, and practice self-care.
Anxiety is like a wave and all we can do is learn how to ride it.
