It’s sometimes hard to distinguish manipulative behavior from dementia-driven behavior that has the effect of manipulation. We’re all human, and it’s a human trait (though not a great one) to manipulate someone to get our needs met. Do your best to distinguish, but always keep in mind that dementia causes changes in perception and perspective (including a focus on self-interest) as well as behavior.
