This morning, The Wood County Rotary Club took a tour of the WVU-P Technology and Innovation Center in Vienna. And, we welcomed a new member! Kurt Knopp from WVU-P will be our newest Wood County Rotary Club member. He was joined by Dr. Torie Jackson, who guided the group through a tour of the extensive renovations that have already been completed on the property. With ongoing construction and renovations, the buildings are shaping up to be an outstanding addition to the Mid-Ohio Valley offering a variety of new opportunities for students to get degrees in many areas of technology and innovation including cybersecurity and cosmetology. The building has a daycare center and soon will include a food service provider on property and dormitories for students. There is a space that will be dedicated for houses and townhouses and a new access road will be completed soon in addition to the current renovated access road and parking lots. Under the leadership of Dr. Torie Jackson, this project will be an amazing asset to Vienna and our surrounding community. As students continue learning in this wonderfully renovated space, none of us can really grasp the total significance and impact that this will make in the Mid-Ohio Valley and beyond. Some of the photos below will only give you a small glimpse of the projects that are underway with many more still in the planning phase. You will want to see it for yourself! We wish Dr. Torie Jackson and her team at WVU – P much success in their endeavors with this project as it moves forward. And welcome Kurt Knopp to Wood County Rotary Club! Keep us updated as the process continues.
