At Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, we believe every child deserves to thrive in an inclusive community. We offer pediatric therapy services throughout suburban Chicagoland from our rehabilitation centers in Villa Park, Elgin and Naperville. More than 1,000 infants and children with developmental delays and disabilities are seen in-person, through early-intervention or through tele-therapy each week.

Congratulations to Nick for graduating from Speech-Language Therapy! 🎉

Nick has been receiving services from Easterseals for nearly 7 years. During that time with Speech-Language Pathologist, Jihyun Jung, M.A., CCC-SLP, he has worked hard to strengthen his social skills, build meaningful peer relationships, and grow in confidence as a friend.

Today, Nick is thriving both academically and socially — forming new friendships and continuing to shine in and out of the classroom. We are so proud of all he has accomplished. Way to go, Nick!

"Having Easterseals in our lives was like having a constant, caring hand to hold through difficult days, an understanding friend, and a reliable professional you may be hesitant to let in your lives- but absolutely need. You don’t have to go through it alone, and neither does your child," said Vivian's Mom, Mary.

Two-year-old Vivian receives Nutrition Therapy from Manager & Pediatric Nutrition Therapist, Cindy Baranoski, MS, RDN, LDN, through Early Intervention. Vivian was diagnosed with Esophageal Atresia, hypotonia, and Down syndrome. She was supported with a G-tube, and as first-time parents, this was overwhelming to navigate. Through various formulas and feeding methods, she continued to gain weight and progress to table food.

Cindy guided Vivian and her family, her GI doctors, daycare teachers, and pediatrician to ensure the correct steps were taken to further her nutritional gains. Vivian soon became an enthusiastic, healthy eater, and recently had her G-tube removed! She now enjoys "Pizza Fridays" with her family and continues to gain more independence each day!

The Hanover Township Mental Health Board approved $1,200,000 in FY27 annual funds to agencies serving residents in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse intervention and prevention.

“The need for mental health services—and the funding to support them—remains significant,” said Mary Jane Garvey, Mental Health Board Chairperson. “Our community is fortunate to be supported by agencies that are deeply committed to addressing the varied needs of our most vulnerable residents.”

Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley was selected as one of the FY27 grantees, receiving $120,000 towards our pediatric rehabilitation and mental health services. We appreciate and sincerely thank our Hanover Township community for their help to ensure children with disabilities and their families receive the care they need to thrive in an inclusive community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to State Representative Marti Deuter for filing HB 4391: Improving Access to Pediatric Therapy. This bill updates insurance coverage to allow multiple medically necessary therapy services on the same day, meaning fewer trips, less cost, and less stress for families.

We commend Representative Deuter for her collaboration with our Vice President of Clinical Services, Maureen Karwowski, OTR/L, and advancing legislation that puts families first and removes unnecessary barriers to accessing care.
