The Hanover Township Mental Health Board approved $1,200,000 in FY27 annual funds to agencies serving residents in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse intervention and prevention.

“The need for mental health services—and the funding to support them—remains significant,” said Mary Jane Garvey, Mental Health Board Chairperson. “Our community is fortunate to be supported by agencies that are deeply committed to addressing the varied needs of our most vulnerable residents.”

Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley was selected as one of the FY27 grantees, receiving $120,000 towards our pediatric rehabilitation and mental health services. We appreciate and sincerely thank our Hanover Township community for their help to ensure children with disabilities and their families receive the care they need to thrive in an inclusive community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to State Representative Marti Deuter for filing HB 4391: Improving Access to Pediatric Therapy. This bill updates insurance coverage to allow multiple medically necessary therapy services on the same day, meaning fewer trips, less cost, and less stress for families.

We commend Representative Deuter for her collaboration with our Vice President of Clinical Services, Maureen Karwowski, OTR/L, and advancing legislation that puts families first and removes unnecessary barriers to accessing care.

Jack is celebrating his third birthday! 🎉
And with it comes some big moments—starting preschool and becoming a big brother 💙

Born prematurely and diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Jack's parents, Steven and Nicole, have always focused on his future and what’s possible. At Easterseals, they found a therapy team that listens, understands their goals, and works alongside them to help make progress happen.

👋 Occupational therapy helps Jack tear open birthday presents
💦 Aquatic therapy builds the strength he’ll need to hold his baby brother
🚶 Physical therapy supports his mobility so he can play with classmates

Week by week, Jack continues to grow stronger—and he’s not the only one.
95% of families report meaningful progress toward their therapy goals.

Make a gift today. Your support helps remove barriers to care for uninsured families and shapes bright futures for children like Jack—now and for years to come.
