We are coming at you with another recipe: 🍓 Strawberry Protein Flan
Creamy, indulgent, and boosted with a touch of protein thanks to Nutricost Strawberry Milkshake Protein. Perfect for any dessert craving! 💪🏻🍮
Ingredients
Flan:
* ¾ cup sugar
* 4 eggs
* 12 oz evaporated milk
* 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
* 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
* 4 oz cream cheese
Strawberry Cake Layer:
* 1 box strawberry cake mix
* Ingredients listed on the box (usually eggs, oil, and water/milk)
* 1–2 scoops Nutricost Strawberry Milkshake Protein
Instructions
1. Prepare the caramel: Melt the sugar over medium heat until golden and smooth. Pour into greased heart-shaped molds, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Let it slightly harden.
2. Make the flan: Blend the eggs, evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream cheese, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over the set caramel.
3. Bake the flan: Place the molds inside a larger baking dish filled with hot water (about halfway up the molds). Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45–50 minutes, until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
4. Prepare the cake layer: Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions. Prepare the batter and mix in 1–2 scoops of protein until fully incorporated.
5. Bake the cake over the flan: Pour the cake batter over the baked flan and bake for 20–25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool to room temperature.
6. Chill and serve: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight. Carefully unmold so the caramel layer is on top.
Optional: Garnish with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, dulce de leche, or strawberry sauce.
