Today, March 20th, my daughter had her natural HOSPITAL birth:
- 40 weeks + 5 days ( no induction)
- no IV
- Intermittent monitoring
- Drinking fluids
- No pain meds
- No epidural
- Free to move around
- Get in the tub
- Sit on birthing ball
- Water bag broke on its own while pushing
- Deliver in any position
- Baby born “sunny side-up”
- No Pit after birth
- Immediate skin to skin
- Delayed chord clamping
- No tearing
- Only 2 vaginal checks (including the one in triage)

THANK YOU, WACO!

After a decade of serving Central Texas families and 300+ babies delivered,
Waco Doula is closing and the on call team will no longer be an option. I announce this with both a heavy heart and also joyful anticipation for what’s next.

My decision to retire as a birth doula has not been easy but after a year of consulting, considering and praying I know that it’s time. I believe there is a season for everything and God has been gently nudging me for a while now to focus my attention on my next chapter, and allow something new to be birthed within me.

We want to say, “Thank you” to every family that has welcomed us into their journey, to all of our birthing colleagues & friends and special shout out to our own families who have walked with us through all the highs and lows!

It’s been an honor of a lifetime serving the Waco Community and although Waco Doula will no longer be an official entity, some of my doulas will be going out on their own, and with full confidence I can recommend them to any mother looking for support.

I remain passionate about the childbirth experience and look forward to how I’ll be used next!
