Stay Strong Rei Reinaldo Villalobos, my husband, was diagnosed with ALS in May of 2016, at the young age of 30. ALS is a fatal disease with no cure.

Reinaldo Villalobos was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig's disease in May of 2016, at the tender age of 30. Rei and his wife Amy used to work in NYC and were very active. They loved hiking, biking, camping, fishing, Rei also participated in a Tough Mudder race, which he loved! One of their favorite activities was scuba diving, they became certified together. Rei had plans of going to school to become and underwater welder. Unfortunately, that dream was cut short. Rei won't ever do any of these activities again due to ALS. Although, Amy and Rei will never be able to participate in these actives together again they still try to have as much fun as possible and live a normal life. Currently, I (Amy) am caregiving for Rei most of the time, taking care of our 12 month old son, and working part time. Reis needs over this past year have grown tremendously because he has lost most of his mobility and ability to perform simple tasks for himself. This condition makes daily living complicated and frustrating. We’ve relocated to live with my family in Rhode Island who we are very lucky to have. Thanks to the support of the ALS association here in Rhode Island and the clinics we’ve had great medical help, advice, and treatments. The purpose of this page and our fundraiser is to help Rei and our family in our fight with ALS; including medical bills, home renovations, wheelchair accessible van, adaptive equipment for mobility; as well as travel and care. ALS is a fatal disease with no cure and no medical treatment beyond supportive care. Any donations are appreciated. As well, please share our fundraiser with family and friends and spread the word. We are looking for a wheelchair van to rent for a little bit until we are able to purchase one. Does anyone out there know anyone that would loan theirs or business with low rental rates?
