Now that Christmas is over, it's time for New Years celebrations and resolutions, but I'm going to try something different this time.
I’m not doing resolutions this year.
I’m doing non-negotiables.
Resolutions are a setup. They’re designed to be broken so we can feel like failures by February. And honestly? I’m done participating in that nonsense.
Non-negotiables are different.
They’re not goals.
They’re not “fix yourself” lists.
They’re standards for how you treat yourself and allow others to treat you.
Some examples you might consider for 2025:
• Protecting your peace — even if it disappoints people
• Saying no without explaining yourself
• Resting without guilt
• Not engaging in conversations that drain you
• Choosing healing over obligation
• Honoring your nervous system
• Not forcing yourself where you’re not respected
• Taking care of your energy like it actually matters (because it does)
Non-negotiables aren’t about becoming someone new.
They’re about not abandoning yourself anymore.
So instead of asking, “What do I want to achieve this year?”
Try asking, “What am I no longer willing to tolerate?”
That list is easier to keep — and way more powerful.
✨ What’s one non-negotiable you’re claiming for 2026?
