Built in 1911, this impressive brick structure once housed the Walla Walla Brewing Company — a local landmark fondly nicknamed “the castle.” Over the decades, it became Pioneer Brewery in 1944 and later Northwest Brewing Company, before being razed in 1958.

A piece of Walla Walla’s industrious past that still lives on in memory — a reminder of the craftsmanship and community that built this valley. 💙

Here are a few helpful reminders to keep your kids healthy, focused, and feeling their best all school year long. 💙

The start of a new school year brings fresh routines, new friends, and exciting opportunities for kids to grow and learn. But it also comes with more exposure to germs, busier schedules, and the challenge of keeping healthy habits on track.

As parents, we know you want your kids to feel their best in the classroom and beyond. That’s why a few simple steps can make a big difference in keeping your child healthy, focused, and energized all school year long. 💙

Here are some practical ways to help your kids stay healthy now that school is back in session:

1️⃣ Strong Start with Breakfast – Fuel their brain and body with a balanced breakfast — protein + whole grains + fruit.
2️⃣ Handwashing Matters – Encourage frequent handwashing (20 seconds!) to stop germs in their tracks.
3️⃣ Stay Active – Kids need at least 60 minutes of daily activity, whether at recess, sports, or family walks.
4️⃣ Balanced Lunch & Snacks – Pack colorful fruits, veggies, and protein for steady energy.

Built in 1899, Billings Hall served many roles over the years — from a men’s dormitory to a science and classroom building — before being razed in 1972 to make way for Maxey Hall.

A beautiful reminder of Walla Walla’s evolving history, and how each generation leaves its mark on our community. 💙
