This week, we welcomed senior leaders from מרכז רפואי צפון - פוריה Tzafon MC in northern Israel, where a new rehabilitation center is helping meet a vital need in their community. Their team spent the day at Ga***rd Hospital exploring our best practices, interdisciplinary teamwork, and outreach initiatives including the Ga***rd Sports Association as they look to maximize rehab services in their region.

Sharing knowledge, learning from one another, and strengthening rehabilitation care worldwide is just one more way we live our mission to Think Possible.

Three years ago, when she was 23, Michaela Williams had a brain AVM rupture as she was getting ready to go live on TikTok. She collapsed, and the rupture left her unable to walk, talk, or eat.

After months of rehabilitation at Ga***rd Specialty Healthcare, Michaela made remarkable progress. Today, she’s walking, talking, and thriving while continuing outpatient therapies, including aquatic therapy.

We’re so proud to have been part of Michaela’s journey and inspired by her strength and positivity.

She believes there was a “miracle” involved in her survival and recovery.

Congratulations to Caitlin Cote, MSN, RN, PCCN, NPD-BC, Dr. Alyse Sicklick, and Richard Sills!

Last night, they were recognized at the 2025 Hartford Business Journal Health Care Heroes Awards for their outstanding contributions to healthcare.

Caitlin, Director of Ga***rd’s Center for Education, launched programs that train and inspire the next generation of nurses. Dr. Sicklick, celebrated for her work in brain injury and stroke rehabilitation, leads teams helping patients regain independence. Richard, a stroke survivor and peer mentor, has supported over 1,500 patients.
