Peak: Utthita Bandha Parsva Upavesasana (Lateral Lunge Binding Twist)

Today’s flow focused on opening up the side body; the biggest path ignored. We all have what’s called Samskara; habitual physical & mental patterns of action. Usually we continue on these patterns because they are familiar or feel comforting in some way even though they can be harmful. Even if they are good habits they can become thoughtless. Yoga teaches us to create positive actions with intention. Learning to take the path that maybe uncomfortable and scary at first because it is the right path; the one that will allow us to feel peaceful. Asana practice can help teach us how to take this positive path in life.
Our next flow will be on 8/8 (sat) @ 11:00am. I teach a power vinyasa blended with yin flow.

Urdhva Dhanurasana peak today! It was so wonderful teaching about courage and the difference between fear and actual pain when practicing and how to understand when to keep pushing or how. This is the mind body connection and the breath is the messenger. We must listen to our body and our bodies must listen to our minds. If we stop breathing we can not progress.... hope to see you next weekend🙏🏼🌞

Urdhva Dhanurasana requires back body strength, front body flexibility & the proper steps to open & lengthen the spine. We spend so much of our days hunched over or constantly sitting or just always moving forward that we neglect what’s behind us. We must remember to always put effort to balance. Our core not only includes our torso, but also the muscles along our backs that support our spine. Practicing this pose will emphasize a beautiful posture & equalize our bodies to support a healthier life ☀️🧘🏼‍♀️
