Launching the first of its kind research program to eliminate the delay of care and many barriers women face when diagnosed with dense breast tissue because, we believe that everyone deserves the benefit of early breast cancer detection.
The Clear Pathways Program (part 1) is getting right to the heart of the matter and heading straight into local communities to bridge this gap with a series of experiential wellness events and listening to women.
First up is Seattle! If you’d like to know more and invite us into your community or wellness center please reach out.
Together with our partners and we will:
🤌 Put resources directly into the hands of women to understand their mammogram, breast density type and navigate next steps
🤌 Work with local communities to eliminate the barriers and delays to adjunct screening access and care
🤌 Work with local organizations to provide resources specific to the needs of women facing barriers and delays to care
🤌 Provide additional resources to streamline communication between breast health centers and patients
What happens after a mammogram appointment is critical to ensuring that all women have been screened appropriately for her breast density type.
Most disparities in breast cancer outcomes don’t happen during treatment. One glaring disparity happens before and during a patient’s mammogram appointment, affecting the up to 50% of women with dense breast tissue, which is further compounded by access.
Leaving many women without the necessary information and resources they need for next steps if they have dense breast tissue. Even when they are notified of their breast density status it often doesn’t effectively communicate the critical need for adjunct screening, nor does it provide streamlined access to the breast ultrasound or breast MRI to adequately screen for breast cancer.
Far too many patients are being denied the opportunity of an accurate screening and possibly the benefits of an early breast cancer diagnosis because of this delay in care.
