Hey there wonderful community members! 🙌🏾

✨We are excited to announce an incredible opportunity for all of you to make a positive impact in the lives of students and guardians. We are in the process of building a comprehensive afterschool program that goes beyond just academics. It’s about creating a supporting and enriching environment for everyone involved.

🚨Your involvement is crucial! This program aims to provide resources and workshops to help families in Houston County. Whether you’re a teacher, farmer, artist, sports enthusiast, tech whiz, counselor, or just passionate about making a difference, we need YOUR skills and expertise. Your time and dedication will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of our youth into something truly exceptional.

🧠Join us for our first community brainstorming session on August 25 at 12 PM at Lindsey! Let’s discuss your ideas, talents, and how we can collectively create something amazing for our students and families. Share this post with your friends, family and neighbors, who might be interested in contributing their skills. The more diverse talents we bring together the stronger our program and community will be.

✅Kindly RSVP by Thursday, August 24 so we can ensure we have enough space, lunch and materials.

Together we can!

Rest in love sweet angel!

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and we want you to know some very important facts.

Each year around 13,500 children are diagnosed with cancer in the US, that’s more than a classroom of kids a day.

35,000 children are currently in treatment for cancer.

25% of all kids who are diagnosed with cancer die.

Some pediatric brain tumors, such as brain stem gliomas and pontine gliomas, are terminal upon diagnosis and no new protocols have been developed in 30 years.

Many pediatric cancers, including neuroblastoma and disseminated medulloblastoma, are terminal upon progression or recurrence.

More children die of cancer every year than adults died in 9/11.

Cancer kills more children than AIDs, asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and congenital anomalies combined.

The average age of death for a child with cancer is 8, causing a child to lose 69 years of expected life.

The death of a child is one of the most traumatic events a family might face.

Families who have lost children are often financially and emotionally depleted.

There is a lack of federal funding for pediatric cancers. Brain Cancer recieves the least amount of funding of all the pediatric cancers.
