Herb and Mushroom Adaptogens
Adaptogens are natural herb and mushroom supplements that help your body to “adapt” to a stressful environment. They work to naturally increase neuroplasticity and balance neurotransmitters — allowing the body to take on more stress with fewer side effects.

Adaptogens build up the body’s tolerance to stress, releasing less cortisol (our body’s stress hormone) when faced with triggering situations. Over time, adaptogens can also help boost the production of important neurotransmitters, which in turn strengthen and balance brain chemistry.

Magnesium deficiency may not even be on your radar when actively assessing and addressing your gut health.

This essential mineral has a starring role in the body. Without it, hundreds of enzymatic processes would not run. And the alarming truth is that most of us are not getting enough in our daily lives, and at the same time, burning through it with our increased stress.

Supplementing with magnesium may improve your sleep, decrease headaches, and improve muscle soreness. But it is also essential for proper gut health and function.

Do you experience constipation? GERD? Bloating and abdominal pain? Nausea or malabsorption? If this is true for you, you likely need to add magnesium to your daily routine.

In the GI tract, it is used to support bowel regularity and a healthy microbiome. It helps regulate stomach acid and the enzymes necessary to break down and absorb your food.

Your gut needs and loves magnesium! So, how to supplement?

I believe topical magnesium is the best. Many forms of magnesium supplements either cause cramping/stomach upset (oral options) or are itchy (sprays). Our Good Night Lotion is a topical option that delivers 100 mg of magnesium per teaspoon.

Earthley has blended pure magnesium chloride with nourishing oils that moisturize your skin, while the magnesium absorbs quickly. This stuff is the real deal folks.

Here is an easy to follow, basic immune support guide. The heavy hitter vitamins and minerals needed to be healthy are magnesium, vitamin C and zinc.
It's best not to take magnesium and zinc together .. I recommend taking zinc and vitamin C in the morning at breakfast or at lunch, and taking magnesium before bed.
Magnesium actually absorbs much better through the skin, so a lotion with active magnesium in it is perfect for this protocol. The one I use is made by Earthley, if you'd like to check it out here is the link:

For vitamin C, there are many good supplement brands. My favorite are NOW or Solgar. I don't recommend buying vitamins from the grocery store or CVS, as they are not formulated for maximum absorption and you end up peeing most of it out.
Another wonderful option for vitamin C is:
https://earthley.com/product/immune-aid-vitamin-c-powder/ref/vheewhy/
It comes in a powder that can be mixed into drinks or blended into smoothies, or you can get it in capsule form. This powder extracts vitamin C from 3 diffrent sources, Camu camu powder, Acerola berry powder and Orange peel powder.

Zinc is an absolutely critical nutrient as well. You need to make sure you get enough zinc! Many zinc supplements provide way to high of a dose of zinc however. 50mg of zinc is ok for when your feeling sick, but for everyday use it's better to use a much smaller dose. To much zinc can interfere with magnesium absorption. A really wonderful product for getting zinc into your system is the oyster-min capsules by Earthley. A rich natural source of zinc that also improves libido! A win-win haha!
You can find the Oyster-Min here:

Elderberry is another excellent plant for supportin g your immune system, and its safe for all ages! You can grow your own, buy dried elderberry and make your own tincture, or buy a pre-made syrup or tincture.
Earthley has two choices for elderberry, the tincture:

or a fun DIY elderberry syrup kit! This is fun to do with the kids to start teaching them about herbs and remedies.

The final thing on our list is Cod Liver Oil. This oil contains naturally-occurring, nature-based levels of vitamins A and D. It also contains the essential Omega-3 fatty acids (DHA, EPA, and DPA).
Cod Liver Oil supports brain health and immune health. It's excellent for infants and children, as they need higher levels of DHA espeically.
You can find our pure, virgin cod liver oil, straight from the Arctic Circle (Alaska) here:
