I was ecstatic tonight to work on a fellow dancer for 5 min on his calf and achilles which kept him sitting on the sidelines most of night while he watched his other friends dance. He let me massage his calf/achilles, and I showed him some techniques to do every day at home along with some stretches. NO JOKE...when the club closed, he was out in the parking lot dancing with two other friends, car door wide open, blaring their dance music. He did three dances in a row, full out! Please remember that massage is optional. If you have a cold or any kind of infection, it is best to reschedule your massage. It is contraindicated to get massage because it increases circulation and can move the infection around in your body and make it grow and become worse. Also, do not get massage if alcohol is in your system. Massage, again, increases circulation and can create a heart attack or stroke. This is my training. I'm not being mean. I am looking out for your best interest. Not only do I care, but that is my job. That is my training, and it is my liability. Additionally, don't sit in a hot tub or sauna with alcohol in your system. Same.
