On 23 September, Mabon (also known as the Autumn Equinox) will be celebrated in the northern hemisphere and Ostara (also known as the Spring Equinox)will be celebrated in the southern hemisphere.

Both these Sabbats mark a point in the year where there is perfect balance between the hours of light and the hours of dark.

Here is a breakdown of what each of these Sabbats mean. They are both Pagan festivals, two of the eight Wiccan Sabbats celebrated during the year.
