😂😂 I couldn't help myself! 😂😂

I emailed the entire office and told them I brought in homemade brownies!

I haven't belly laughed this hard in months.... maybe years!

The best part about non- food fun - there is no fear of gaining weight or feeling like I have to be extra good tomorrow.

It's all fun.... no worries.

It was a fantastic April Fools joke 😃

I've been back at work for a couple of weeks now.

There are bad and good aspects.

One positive....steps are naturally built into my day.

Another positive.... because my office doesn't have a gym but offers fitness time, I've been going outside a lot for walks.

I think I forgot how much I love being outside.

I'm still figuring out my sleep....I haven't been getting 7 hours very often during the week.

Also, still figuring out when to lift so I can stay strong and lean 💪

One fantastic thing I've learned from my way is that I can figure out how to be healthy in any situation.

It's been five years of weight loss and maintenance... full of vacations, holidays, work, play, etc.

This change isn't a reason to gain weight.

It's just another situation I can figure out.

You don't have to be bound by your past choices.

Overeating this past weekend doesn't define who you choose to be TODAY.

You can choose differently.

You can choose to wait for hunger before eating.

You can choose to move your body.

You can choose to drink water.

You can choose who you want to BECOME 🦋

I share my journey because EVERYONE deserves to feel this good.

No, my life doesn't feel like rainbows and sunshine all the time.

But at my highest weight of 250 pounds, I felt like my glory days were over. I felt like my destiny was just to be another fat mom, living vicariously through my kids' adventures.

I am hopeful and excited about life again!

This is not the result of counting calories or never missing a workout.

This is the result of coming home to myself.

The result of refusing to fight against myself anymore.

The result of really listening to what my body and my heart really need.

The result of loving and nurturing myself as well as I do my family.

Everyone deserves this.

Your destiny is not already written.

Change is possible.

Happy ❤️ !

A lot has changed.

PreCovid me looked for excuses to not workout or buy my lunch instead of pack it.

Now I look for the ways I can stay my healthiest even while going to the office each day (after 5 years of teleworking).

Why?

Because I deserve to feel good.

A party in my mouth is fun 🤪 but when you party every day, it starts to take its toll.

Here's the secret 👇👇👇

✨️Weight loss doesn't require special circumstances✨️

Working from home sure made weight loss FEEL easier.

But it wasn't required.

With government layoffs and full-time return to the office, my brain has been in FREAK OUT mode.

It has been telling me ALL the things I need to maintain my 100 pound weight loss were going AWAY.

It's been telling me that weight gain is INEVITABLE.

But when I took a breath and asked if these things were actually true, I realized:

🌟 I lost my first 30 pounds while going into the office each day.
🌟 I have lost weight while going on vacations and work trips.
🌟 I have navigated hundreds of birthdays, celebrations and holidays and still maintained my weight loss.

I lost my weight in a way I knew I could live for the rest of my life....in office or not.

I've learned to know when my body is truly hungry and when I've physically had enough food.

I've learned how to emotionally care for myself and create plans for my day so I don't need to eat my face off at the end of the night to feel good.

Going into the office doesn't take that away from me.

It gives me a chance to show up for myself ❤️

Almost a quarter into 2025 and you may be thinking this isn't your year to lose weight.

BUT YOU'RE WRONG.

This year, right now, is the perfect time to start again.

Summer is right around the corner...

After 5 years of complete teleworking,  I'm back in the office. As if that's not enough,  the current administration has...

After 5 years of complete teleworking, I'm back in the office.

As if that's not enough, the current administration has every federal worker wondering if their days are numbered.

It has been stressful.
It has been scary.

On top of it all, my husband started his own business at the end of 2023 and things are still getting off the ground... so my paycheck is THAT much more important.

I've found myself eating more lately.
Craving sweets.
Not quite feeling like working out.

I've been working on finding a balance between grace and discipline.

It's meant making my plan AND putting a dessert on it every day.

It's meant making journaling a priority.

It's meant getting movement in and letting go of the expectation to lift heavy.

It's meant crying when I need to and reminding myself this is a season....I won't always feel this way.

It's also feeling scared and leaning into my confidence that even if I get fired, I can and WILL find ways to provide for my family.

Change is inevitable in life.

It's not happening to me, it's happening for me.

It's been super cold in VA!

Breakfast was a Mediterranean egg thing ( 😆 I'm not a chef) with toast.

Had my after workout protein shake - peanut butter and banana 🍌

Soup has been hitting the spot 😋 so lunch was ramen with chicken and veggies. I love putting frozen veggies in at the end - they cool down three soup without watering it down!

I had a sumo orange and (not pictured) for an afternoon snack.

Dinner was chicken fajitas on street style tortilla (helps me with portion size) and beans.

And closed my day with a .... my fave!

Today wasn't my greatest day.

I have tendinitis in my elbow so weight lifting is on hold....so I decided to go for a run 🏃‍♀️

Well....I got a ridiculous side stitch which brought me to a walk.

Things were a little testy with my husband.

Work was .... well, work.

And let's just say I didn't FEEL like eating what I had for dinner.

And I didn't....I added in some tostones and extra sauce.

It's not the end of the world
It's just something I'm noticing.

Even after I still use food to soothe myself.

And I'm OK with it.

I'm a human.

It's just something to note and remind myself that it doesn't have to have any bearing on my decisions for the rest of the night or tomorrow.

I can care for myself in non-food ways like going to bed early and wrapping myself up in my heated blanket.
