“Now let us begin. Now let us rededicate ourselves in the long and bitter but beautiful struggle for a new world. If we will but make the right choice, we will be able to speed up the day, all over America and all over the world, when justice will roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in a speech on 4 April 1967 at Riverside Church, New York City, exactly one year to the day before his assassination.

Freedom Day Foundation and it’s guiding principles were founded by a Black Woman! Therefore, we are personally taking this time to acknowledge the unabated power that resides in our female leads. More specifically, we are challenging the nation to recognize and reflect on the many outstanding Woman of Color who are responsible for nurturing and advancing whole communities.

We also send our deepest condolences to those effected by the passing of acting legend, Cicely Tyson.

Here’s to STRONG WOMAN.

🦠COVID-19 has clearly demonstrated the failure of the American healthcare system, particularly in communities of color.

💰 While millions suffer from illness, death, and economic catastrophe, for-profit healthcare companies are raking in billions in profits. This discussion, led by public health experts and physicians on the front-lines, will demonstrate why we urgently need Improved Medicare For All.

The Freedom Day March

We would like to present the Freedom Day March, a peaceful movement that seeks to dismantle a systematic imbalance through enacting policy reform, educating the public, and strengthening communities. We have been on the frontlines of this movement, witnessing the power of people coming together. While there has been an abundance of energy we have seen a lack of organization and clear leadership. This march aims to unite the many organizations that have blossomed from this movement. We hope that our collective voices will be so loud that they enact real tangible policy change. This movement has opened the eyes of our nation. Black Americans face systematic challenges through all aspects of our government. While criminal justice and police reform have been the focus of this moment we realize it does not stop there. Education is a racial justice issue. Health care is a racial justice issue. Affordable housing is a racial justice issue. Access to clean water and healthy food options is a racial justice issue. Obtaining an opportunity is a racial justice issue. The Freedom Day March aims to be a call to action on all these fronts. The time is now to start reimagining a new America. Through our collective voices, we will transform a system that has never seen Black Americans for what they truly are; beautiful, powerful, and influential people. This movement has shown us some of the ugliest parts of our history but the American people have responded with hope and a vision for a new tomorrow. The Freedom Day March is determined to become an annual event that gives our young leaders a platform to invoke change. We hope this movement will encourage the American people to become more involved in their local governments and bring awareness to the importance of the voting process. Through the strength of our communities, we will create a nation in which all people are treated equally. This is what we must do and this is what we WILL DO! If you seek as we seek for a brighter tomorrow then we ask that you stand beside us on June 19, 2020, and give them a Juneteenth that will never be forgotten. Thank you for your support! Follow @freedomdaymarch on Instagram and Twitter for more information. March routes, time, and guest speakers will be announced on all platforms.
