Please share. This is about all of us DC!

For years DC has been controlled by a political machine that has not governed in the best interest of our hard working, housing challenged, school aged, economically strapped, mentally ailing, fixed income, DC loving citizens. Our DC should be about every Washingtonian, and every DC family! It's time to unite for what's right!

Our tax dollars and federal funds have been mismanaged for far too long. Our city has been plagued with one after the other stories of corruption. As DC's next Mayor I will remove the dark clouds that this current leadership has allowed to form over our city.

More of the same is not what DC citizens deserve! In November 2026, let's not let the same folks control our city! Everyone 18 years and older must vote. Vote 4 change! Vote 4 the only candidate that is fighting for you and your family! It's time to shut it down, break up the circles, and take our city back! Let's go! ! ! !

2026 DC Mayoral Candidate, Dr. Rhonda Hamilton is Ushering in Independent Leadership for a Renewed DC.

Washington, D.C. — 2026 DC Mayoral Candidate, Dr. Rhonda Hamilton will address members of the DC Council at the December 5, 2025 Committee of the Whole Public Oversight Hearing on “Housing Code Inspections and Rental Property Conditions” at 9:30 a.m., Room 412 (Track B) John A. Wilson Building 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

For years, Washington, DC has been led by political insiders — Ward leaders, board members, agency officials — people who have promised progress, but year after year delivered the same results.

How do you get a promotion to mayor, or congress, if you have failed at your current job?

If you approved budgets while thousands lived with rodents and mold — You do not deserve a promotion.

If you stayed silent while DC forfeited federal housing funds and left DC families living with substandard and unhealthy housing conditions --- You do not deserve a promotion.

I’m not running to protect the current system.

I’m running to expose it, fix it, and make it finally work for the people.

It is time to open the books.
It is time to shine light into every corner of this budget and the District government’s operating standards.
It is time to rebuild trust through transparency, accountability, and measurable results.

Because this city can work — for all of us.

We can build a DC where every Ward thrives, not just a select few.
Where seniors and disabled residents have reliable transportation.
Where housing is truly affordable, habitable, and safe.
Where youth are rehabilitated, not recycled through a broken justice system.
Where opportunity is not determined by your ZIP code.
Where your government tells you the truth about where your tax dollars go — and can prove it.

I am not running to maintain DC.
I am running to transform it.

This is about performance.
This is about results.
This is about trust.

Because if crime is rising…
If youth justice continues to fail…
If families are being priced out of the city they love…
If seniors and disabled residents are losing the bus routes, they rely on…
If tenants are living with rodents, mold, and collapsing ceilings…
If Wards 1 through 8 are still battling inequity…

Then leadership must change.

DC deserves a mayor who answers to its residents, workers, and small business community — not political machines or corporate interests.
DC deserves a mayor who isn’t tied to a party, a Ward base, or the same entrenched systems that created these problems.
DC deserves a mayor with the independence to make decisions based only on what matters and what is right.

That is why I am running as an Independent candidate for Mayor of Washington, DC.

Independence from political alliances.
Independence from the status quo.

Independence from more of the same failed leadership decisions and performances.

We spend more than $7.5 billion on Human Services — more than any other area of the budget — yet homelessness and the threat of housing displacement are a reality for far too many DC residents. That means the money is flowing everywhere except where people actually need it.

We invest over $4.3 billion into education, yet classrooms still struggle, and teachers still buy supplies out of their own pockets. Money meant to deliver standards of excellence is suspiciously funding agendas that are harming our youth.

We hand out over $300 million a year in incentives to developers and corporate structures while working families continue to get priced out and eviction notices go up daily.

We keep increasing policing and emergency response budgets, but fail to properly invest in prevention programs that actually stop crime before it happens.

And while all of this is happening, DC has forfeited tens of millions of federal housing dollars.

Money that should have gone to repairing dangerous units.
Money that should have kept families housed.
Money that should have built real affordable homes.

DC’s current leaders failed to manage, failed to deliver, and failed its citizens. Not one of these elected individuals deserve a promotion to mayor.

Hundreds of tenants had to organize themselves because the system that is meant to protect them didn’t show up.

I will show up!

That is my promise to the citizens of Washington, DC. The city that has raised me, the city that I love, the city that I call home must no longer be led by failed leadership!

Let’s get to work, DC.

Join me on Friday, December 5th, as I appear, yet once again before the failed, elected leaders of the DC Council to honor my civic duty of independently and unapologetically representing the interest of countless DC citizens whose voices have been silenced and for whom the low living and governing standards remain.

Get involved with my campaign, show your support, and get ready to help me usher in a renewed mayoral leadership for our "dear" DC!
