Edited: As a Black-owned business dedication to liberation and healing through the arts, we support protesters, activists, and community organizers working on the front lines. We are continuing the Fundraiser for Black Lives through midnight on Wednesday, June 3. We will continue posting updates on social media.
Non-Black followers: please consider participating in today's social media protest without posting flooding social media with your stance. Black movement makers have already uncovered that was started as a corporate campaign and is not supported by the original organizers. If you choose to silence your social media activity to amplify the voices of Black creatives, entrepreneurs, and small businesses: please use to amplify Black culture and Black-led movements. Support Black-owned business. Be careful about what your posts may be erasing from the feed.
Allies and supporters: please take note of the ways you can support this movement. Listen to your Black friends community members. Respect and amplify Black voices. Consider stepping back from the conversation as it comes to matters of liberation, protest, dissent, and Black lives.

Why do you hold your tongue? Perhaps you were taught your words were too heavy for the world to hold — and so you revel and rage in silence. Or perhaps you fight back words that are sharp enough to wound — and so, as a pacifist, you push back your vitriol. Have you grown bitter yet from all the truths unspoken? Do they roughen your internal world and fracture your worldview? Where do you safely unpack your overwhelmed emotion, your trembling anger, and your unmet desire?
Decolonize your silence. Free your expression via the body during moments that find words inaccessible. Absolve your need to hide behind half-truths and pleasant lies. Uncut your tongue — and with that, liberate your truth.
"As a healer and a mental health advocate, I focus on empowerment and liberation as the cornerstones of Blueboy Creative," Dorian Blue explains. "My visual art is a conduit for healing expression — art allows space for the uninhibited expression of rage, confusion, heartache, and joy. All of those rich colors blend together on the canvas, mixed in the quintessential messiness of what it means to be human. This raw, human process of expression encourages a mode of catharsis that is unapologetically messy. As we choose and curate the fearless life that we desire, the relationships that we deserve, and the homes that we crave, the process is very much like tending a garden. And that’s where blooming comes in. What are you willing to prune within your garden so that you can fully bloom? Are you ready to get your hands dirty as you wrestle with your healing?
"At the end of the day, it’s about letting your words have a life of your own. You are the divine master of your own story. So why do you hold back your ideas? Why do you put yourself down? Why do you exalt the needs of other before yourself? Why do you still allow someone else write your narrative? Blueboy Creative is focused on empowering individuals to be the authors of their own stories, in every single way. And with that self-empowered narrative comes a necessary process of healing and liberation. First, I invite you to start with your tongue. Exercise your right to tell your story. And once you have successfully done that work, I challenge you to speak your mind." — Dorian Blue, Artistic Director of Blueboy Creative
Blueboy Creative empowers individuals to embrace their unique stories, liberate their narratives, and bloom without restraint.
