Many will recognize the name “Source” from 2005 and their long time support to the US Military in the product category of hydration. However, the company has grown so much since then developing innovative pack and load carriage solutions and now over the last several years, both hard and soft body armor. What I admire about the company is their engineering approach to solving performance gaps. For instance, with more and more woman choosing military and law enforcement careers (as of 2023, women make up about 17.7% of the U.S. active-duty military, with numbers increasing since 1980 when woman were under 10%) is a need to innovate body armor to better fit the female. Designing high performance- lighter weight plates that better match female characteristics is the gap / Source idemonstrates innovative solutions to meet this need. the changing nature of warfare is dramatic. The technology coming out of is scary. This 400 lbs multi terrain, water borne, climbing, anti personnel robot is terrifying. Outfitted today with tear gas dispensers could be easily modified to drop small anti personnel mines or chemical weapons in addition to the day and night optics. How could a land force combat hundreds of the rolling death bots that cant be out run and can crush bodies and bones as well as dispense killer chemicals and land mines? My sincere hope is that and developers are taking notice and working on counter measures. Tank ditches? Timber abates? Mass tangle foot wire? Vertical pole obstructions? If this is the future of warfare must take notice.

WASHINGTON, Sept 4 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump plans to sign an executive order on Friday to rename the Department of Defense the “Department of War,” a White House official said on Thursday, a move that would put Trump’s stamp on the government’s biggest organization. The order would authorize Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Defense Department and subordinate officials to use secondary titles such as “Secretary of War,” “Department of War,” and “Deputy Secretary of War” in official correspondence and public communications, according to a White House fact sheet.

Border Defense Medal would be the “same mold, same ribbon” as the 1918 Mexican Border Service Medal.

And the design shared by the Pentagon really is identical, with the same yellow and green-stripped ribbon and pattern on the actual metal. The Mexican Border Service Medal, which was issued to troops on the United States side of the border between 1916-1917. A similarly named Mexican Service Medal was issued for service members who took part in military operations inside Mexico between 1911-1919.

What was it like walking in both Alexander the Great and Roman Emperor Trajan footsteps?

At the time I didn’t know that my involvement in supporting the Al Fatah river crossing project to repair the bridge to be used as a platform to route the pipes and subsequently to drill a pathway under the river was jus that.

My role as a the contracting officer was to evaluate project progress for horizontal directional drilling at an estimated cost of $28 million.

Why drill instead of repair the bridge? Week because the insurgents would blow the bridge every time we repaired the pipes.

They say you never step in the same river twice but this area is old, really old.

Both Alexander the Great and the Roman Emperor Trajan are known to have conquered and occupied various regions in the vicinity of Kirkuk, Iraq. Alexander the Great’s conquests extended his empire to parts of Mesopotamia, including areas close to Kirkuk and then down to Khandahar. Similarly, Trajan’s campaigns in the region expanded the Roman Empire’s territories into Mesopotamia.

While the exact extent of their occupations in specific cities like Kirkuk may not be explicitly detailed in historical records, it is known that both Alexander the Great and Trajan had military engagements and exerted influence in the broader region including the very Tigris river I boated across.

Calling all Project and Contracting Office ( ) Jan 2004 through June 2005! Attention - did you know that assigned personnel were awarded the Joint Meritorious Unit Award? Here is the citation and narrative:

“The Project and Contracting Office (PCO) distinguished itself by exceptionally meritorious achievement from 1 January 2004 through 30 June 2005. During this period, personnel assigned to the PCO contributed significantly to the success of Operation Iraqi Freedom through their commitment and expert stewardship of $18.4 billion in Iraqi relief and Reconstruction Funds. PCO personnel meticulously planned projects and executed contracts leading to the successful completion of over 650 infrastructure, humanitarian and security projects and provided initial oversight to the 2,150 projects already in progress.” Signed Secretary of Defense. Donald Rumsfeld, September 22, 2005.
