Plants and Blooms ReImagined repurposes surplus cut flowers, post-event arrangements and indoor plant donations to share gifts of joy with those in need.

Plants and Blooms ReImagined is rooted in the belief that the beauty, joy, inspiration and healing power of nature’s gifts -- indoor plants and cut-flowers -- should be experiences available to all. Knowing the transformative power of having live indoor plants and/or arranged flowers in one's living space (no matter how humble), Plants and Blooms ReImagined was envisioned to be the source of these gifts of nature for marginalized and vulnerable groups who too often go without. By way of repurposing surplus cut flowers, post-event arrangements and indoor plant donations, Plants and Blooms ReImagined seeks to increase access to and engagement with live indoor plants and cut flowers as a source of personal enrichment and well-being.

What inspiration looks like when Spirit taps you to bring extra attention to a sacred space/the monument honoring the great one -- Dr. Carter G. Woodson -- whose life's work unveiled, tirelessly studied, and celebrated the history and achievements/impact of African Americans, serving to educate and empower African Americans and awaken the rest of America and the world to the truth and to the urgency and responsibility for racial justice.

It was this week that Dr. Woodson launched Negro History Week in 1926, expanding upon preexisting February celebrations by black people of Presidebt Lincoln's and Frederick Douglas's birthdays (the 12th and 14th, respectively), knowing that a week was only a beginning and was to be a catalyst for expanded future celebrations to come.

So, it's with so much gratitude that the intentional ask of some of DC's black florists -- (blooming since 1945), Flowers by Alexes (check out her inspiring emerging story), and Crystal' Flowers and Gift Shop -- made this Spirit guided homage possible!

A feel-good Friday delivery to Model Cities Senior Wellness Center! Friday the 2nd is also the "Wear Red Day" campaign created to raise greater awareness for heart health and the efforts to eradicate heart disease, particularly for women as it is the leading cause of death among women. Thus, these beautiful spring inspired arrangements with splashes of red!❤️

Thankful Thursday!!! This smile represents so much!

First-time, first-time, FIRST-TIME in studio program delivery!!!

Thank you to these Green Valley Apartment seniors for embracing and trusting the new! They were so grateful for the new adventure and opportunity.

This was a great part of the vision for this amazing creative work space when PBR was relocated in 2020 (a rare Covid gift).

So excited for many more programs (and events) to come!!!

Day one - the special experience that was first pop-up of the season! (pics 8, 9,10)

Program joy, inspiration, and wellness with some of gifted blind and visually impaired clients at Model Cities Senior Wellness Center.

A month of recoveries and donations keeping the "Flower Divas" quite busy creating hundreds of bouquets! (pic 3)

And the gifting - (pics 1 & 2) including the EXCITING, long-awaited return to where PBR bouquet giving began in 2016 which evolved to the therapeutic "Power Hour" program in 2019! We were one week away from celebrating a year of programming when all things SHIFTED March 2020.

As the Day Center reopened last year and programming is being reestablished, PBR is looking forward to returning the "Power Hour" experience to the women!💐
