Interdisciplinary Association for Population Health Science - IAPHS Fostering scientific innovation and discovery to improve the health of populations and reduce health disparities.

The mission of IAPHS is to improve the health of populations by advancing and communicating population health science. The IAPHS achieves its mission by:

- Supporting conferences, workshops, and resources that create a shared professional space for scientists from different disciplinary backgrounds, fostering communication and collaboration to strengthen research addressing complex population health problems involving multiple systems, and supporting the professional development of early-career population health scientists;

- Providing opportunities for scientists to connect with stakeholders, decision-makers and practitioners to encourage knowledge exchange that can improve both research and evidence-based strategies for population health improvement; and

- Increasing the visibility of population health science by communicating advances in scientific knowledge to multiple audiences and promoting the importance of population health research.

Our annual meetings provide networking, learning, and professional development opportunities for people at all professional levels. A scholarship can remove a financial barrier and help students make the most of what IAPHS offers.

In 2026, we'd like to provide 20 scholarships, typically about $650 each. Your gift can help us encourage and support the next generation of population health scientists.

"But in some cases, the infrastructure simply prevents students from being able to participate in school in the same way as their peers. At least 10 districts in Idaho said in 2023 that their bathrooms, gyms and cafeterias werenโ€™t all accessible. Students in those schools have been unable to get their meals at lunch, to make it to classes on different floors or even to attend their neighborhood school. Administrators in three districts, like West Ada, said they donโ€™t have playgrounds that all students are able to use."

Despite federal law, disabled students canโ€™t access playgrounds, lunchrooms, classes and bathrooms. With added funding, school districts are still unable to make necessary fixes.
