Best friends since middle school 🫶🏾

I think it's so important to have people in your circle you can reach out to and say, "Girl, let's go out!"

A night to not be on call, to not put the kids to bed, just to be!

Thankful for this friendship and having joy that's just for me! 🧡

Some days the to-do list feels endless… the meals, the schedules, the emails, the “Mama, can you…?” and everything in between.

But here’s the truth I remind myself of as both a mom and a physician… you don’t need to do everything. You’re not meant to.

What truly moves your family forward… what nurtures your child’s wellbeing… what protects your peace… is doing the things that matter most, with intention and compassion.

When we slow down long enough to prioritize, we show our children a different kind of strength — a strength rooted in presence, not perfection.

So today, give yourself permission to release the rest.
Focus on what actually needs your heart, your attention, your energy.

That is enough.
You are enough.

Some stories stay with you because they change you. 🥹

Growing up, I watched my grandparents get dismissed and mistreated in emergency rooms… not because they were doing anything wrong, but because they were Black elders who people didn’t bother to treat with respect.

And then suddenly, when I got into medical school, the whole vibe shifted.

“Oh, my granddaughter’s gonna be a doctor…”
And just like that, people spoke differently.
Acted differently.
Listened differently.

That contrast? It lit a fire in me.
Because why should our community have to “prove” proximity to medicine just to receive basic dignity?

So I started asking bigger questions about health disparities…
Why do they persist?
Who decided this was acceptable?
And why is the system still structured this way?

That’s why I pivoted into public health.
I wanted real answers — and real solutions — for the people who raised me, the people I care for, and the communities I serve today. 🧡

This is the “why” behind Harmony in Practice… a commitment to creating care that honors our stories and challenges the systems that harm us.

Preparing for time with family…

And thinking about you and yours. 💚
How are you feeling — really?

This season can bring both joy and exhaustion, especially for those of us in healthcare and wellness who pour so much into others. Before the holiday hustle takes over, I hope you’ll pause to check in with you.

🫶🏽 Have you eaten something nourishing today?
🌿 Taken a breath that wasn’t between tasks?
💬 Reached out for support instead of pushing through alone?

Remember: you don’t have to earn your rest.
Your peace, your presence, and your well-being matter too.

Wishing you calm moments, real laughter, and space to simply be.

I knew early in my career that the traditional healthcare model wasn’t working... not for me, and not for the families I cared for. 😞

Seeing 30+ patients a day in rushed visits felt like running on empty. It was overwhelming, unsustainable, and honestly, it went against everything I believed about what good care should look like. And the poor healthcare outcomes in our country proved it.

So, I made a change. I built Healthy Home Pediatrics to create space for true connection... time to listen, educate, and support families beyond the quick office visit. That decision changed everything for me and for the families I serve. 💚

Now, as I expand my work, I’m continuing that mission in a new way! Bringing education, collaboration, and community wellness to the forefront. Through group classes, partnerships, and courses, I’m helping families and fellow healthcare professionals reimagine what sustainable, impactful care can look like.

Because every provider deserves a model that honors their well-being, and every family deserves care that feels personal, intentional, and rooted in community. 🌿

If you’ve been part of this journey from the start, thank you. And if you’re new here, welcome to the next chapter.

To my fellow doctors, nurses, and therapists... this one’s for you. 💚

We give so much of ourselves to care for others, often forgetting that compassion has to flow inward too. This note is a gentle reminder that sustainability is strength, and that rest, reflection, and grace are not luxuries, they’re necessary for us to keep doing this sacred work.

As I continue evolving as a person and doctor, I’m focusing on bringing harmony back to healthcare. Through education, collaboration, and community wellness, we can heal.

And when we heal together, we thrive together. 🫶🏾

Let’s build this harmony... in our practices, our homes, and our communities.

Working on admin tasks at a super cute coffee shop ☕💻

This season has been about creating space... space to reflect, reset, and reimagine how I show up in healthcare and community wellness. And I’m so excited to finally share one of the projects that grew from that space: Finding Harmony in Practice. 💚

Getting ready to welcome a new school-aged patient today 📚💛

One of my favorite traditions at Healthy Home Pediatrics is letting kids pick a book to take home at each wellness visit. I usually pull a few from the shelf that I think they’ll love—but they always have the freedom to choose. (And yes, I’ve gotten pretty good at guessing their pick 😉).

It’s the little touches like this that make check-ups feel less like appointments and more like a special moment. Because pediatric care should be about health and joy. ✨

Curious what it’s like to join our practice? Come see how we make visits feel personal, supportive, and kid-approved. 🧸

I don’t chase work-life balance anymore... I create harmony. 🫶🏾

Some days that means I’m fully present with my patients.
Other days, I’m mentoring women in healthcare, or just being “Mom.”
And yes — sometimes, I’m tired. But it’s a good kind of tired.

Because I get to use both sides of my brain:
the analytical and the creative,
the healer and the nurturer,
the professional and the mom.

For me, it’s not about doing it all perfectly, it’s about finding peace in the rhythm of it all. 🌿

How are you finding harmony in your own life right now? I have a new course designed just for you...

This course, curated specifically for women in healthcare and wellness seeking more balance with impact includes:
🧡 Real-world examples, reflective exercises, and practical applications.
🧡 Prioritizes work-life harmony and long-term sustainability over hustle culture.
🧡 Focuses on reclaiming your why and aligning your practice with your personal and professional values.

As a mama to a child with autism and a pediatrician, I’ve had the privilege of walking through this and alongside so many families whose children see and experience the world differently. 🧡

When we talk about the rise in autism diagnoses, it’s important to remember, this isn’t a crisis. This is progress. 👏🏽

We’re finally identifying children who, years ago, might have been misunderstood, mislabeled, or missed entirely. That means earlier support, better resources, and stronger communities for families.

Awareness doesn’t create problems, it creates pathways. It helps us build systems that honor every child’s potential instead of trying to fit them into a single mold.

Let’s keep moving toward understanding, inclusion, and action that makes a difference. Because when we see children clearly, we give them the space to thrive.

I have a FREE guide for parents who are experiencing a new medical diagnosis. Comment GUIDE below and I'll send it to you! We can all use help and support along this journey.

One of my favorite things to do is get out into the community and talk about childhood wellness. 🥰

Whether it’s answering questions about milestones, sharing health tips, or just connecting with parents, I always leave feeling energized.

And it’s even more special when I get to run into my sorority sisters from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. along the way! ❤️🐘🔺

Sisterhood + service + wellness = the perfect combo.

Because at the end of the day, it’s all about keeping our kids healthy and our community strong. ✨
