Mandala Wellness Temple Food Detox
Happy spring! Feeling lethargic, bloated and just plain terrible from over-indulging during the cold winter season? I always crave a reset when the seasons change to support my exercise program and to gain some vitality. I love the feeling that the phrase temple eating conjures. It’s slowing down, being mindful about the things you put into your body and renewing that feeling of well-being. You’ll notice a difference - clearer skin, better sleep, tons of energy and balanced hormones which lead to less stress and irritability. You may even notice a change when you step on the scale. Here are some guidelines to follow during your detox:
No alcohol or coffee.
Drink plenty of water with a squeeze of lemon! Herbal and green teas are permitted. If you simply must have coffee, try half a pour with some plant milk and coconut oil to rev your engine in the morning. I make a large pitcher of iced green tea to have on hand if I need a pick me up.
No dairy.
Seriously. It doesn’t mean you will never enjoy the virtues of butter and cheese again, but I guarantee you’ll feel less bloated and see a difference in your skin. And, that may make you think about at least cutting back a bit in the future.
No refined sugar/flour.
Say goodby to sugary desserts and bread. No white sugar or white flour in any form for the three days.
Commit to some exercise. Even if it is as simple as a brisk walk around the block. It will lift your spirits, energize, and increase your metabolism.
This is a 3 day vegan detox plan which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Deliveries are made Monday evening. If you need to snack, you may have nuts, natural nut butter, a vegetable based green juice with under 10 grams of sugar or cut up vegetables.
