A student in England dropped breastmilk onto Petri dishes FULL of bacteria.
👉 M. luteus
👉 E. coli
👉 Even antibiotic-resistant MRSA 😱

What happened?

For the inaugural Deaf & Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Week, The Anthropology of Motherhood are sharing an ASL Breastfeeding Education Video Series.

The first of its kind, this breastfeeding series features education and information specifically targeted to engage Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. There is no spoken English used throughout the series, only ASL and closed captioning. The production company, Blue20, is owned by a Deaf person; more than 90% of the talent engaged and the production team is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

The series includes:
1) Answers to Common Breastfeeding Concerns
2) The Gift That Lasts a Lifetime
3) Breastfeeding: In the Beginning; Returning to Work Advocacy
These three videos were produced by the D.C. Breastfeeding Coalition and Blue20 with love and care.

Today marks the start of the first ever Deaf & Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Week! As an allied partner with the Deaf community, the DC Breastfeeding Coalition fostered the initiation of the first-ever Deaf and Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Collective. The theme for this first-of-its-kind observance is "Close the Gap Bridge the Divide: Establish Breastfeeding Support Access."

The purpose of this initiative is to provide the nation's marginalized and underrepresented Deaf community with accessible breastfeeding education, support, and community, because language and breastfeeding access matters from birth! Follow Deaf & Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding to keep up with the observance's activities.

🚨URMYWO Baby Loungers Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Suffocation and Fall Hazard.🚨

The baby loungers violate the mandatory standard for Infant Sleep Products because:
• Sides are shorter than the minimum side height limit to secure the infant
• The sleeping pad’s thickness exceeds the maximum limit, posing a suffocation hazard
• Infant could fall out of an enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped.
• They do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard.
These violations create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

They were sold on Amazon from January 2024 through April 2025 for between $30 and $50.

The baby loungers are made of a gray cloth cover printed with feathers with a foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers. “URMYWO” and “Model No: UMCZC01AE” are printed on side labels.

Refund: Stop using the baby loungers immediately and contact Pomona for a full refund. Consumers should remove the sleeping pad, cut up the sides of the baby loungers and the sleeping pad and email a photo of the destroyed lounger to urmyworecall@outlook.com to obtain a full refund.
