No (kidney) stone left unturned.

About 1 in 10 Americans will experience a kidney stone in their lifetime. If your symptoms are mild, start by talking with your primary care provider about a referral—or call the Urology Clinic directly at 920.206.3042 to schedule an appointment.

If you’re experiencing severe pain, fever, vomiting, or signs of infection, come to the Emergency Department, where urologists are on call 24/7 to provide expert care.

That’s why we’re here.

Not sure if it’s flu, COVID-19, or RSV? Symptoms can overlap, but knowing the differences – and when to seek care – can keep you and your family safe this season. A good first step is to be proactive and take preventive measures. Vaccines, handwashing, and staying home when sick are the best ways to protect yourself and others. But if symptoms include difficulty breathing, chest pain, high fever that won’t go down, confusion, or signs of dehydration, medical care may be needed. Watertown Medical Group is here to provide testing, treatment, and compassionate care when you need it, close to home. Read more about flu, COVID-19, and RSV below.

Start the New Year off right with an annual physical.

Your primary care provider can help detect health concerns early through screenings and tests, keep you up to date on preventive care like vaccines, and discuss lifestyle or mental health needs. Staying on top of your health now can help lower medical costs and support long-term wellness.

Don’t have a primary care provider? Providers within the Watertown Physicians Network are accepting new patients and ready to help.

If you’re celebrating this New Year’s Eve, plan ahead and drink responsibly. If alcohol is part of your plans, make sure you have a sober ride home.

The hours between 6 p.m. on December 31 and 6 a.m. on January 1 see a spike in alcohol-related crashes, and we don’t want your new year to start in the Emergency Department.

Drinking too much, too quickly can also seriously impact your health. Alcohol poisoning is a medical emergency—warning signs include confusion, vomiting, seizures, slow or irregular breathing, pale or bluish skin, and trouble staying conscious. If you notice these symptoms, get help right away.

If you do need us—for any reason—Watertown Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department is open 24/7 with board-certified emergency physicians and specialty-trained nurses and techs ready to care for you.

Stay safe. Celebrate responsibly.

As we wrap up our year-in-review, we’re celebrating the people who joined our team and help make care at Watertown Regional Medical Center possible.

This year, two of the major additions to our provider team were Dr. Michael McGauley, a general surgeon providing care for a wide range of surgical needs, and Abigail Stine, a nurse practitioner in women's health.

Each new provider strengthens our ability to offer timely, high-quality care close to home—giving patients more options, more access, and more peace of mind.

As we continue reflecting on the year, one key milestone was the expansion of our urology services.

With the upcoming retirement of Dr. Sokovich, it was important to us that urology care continue to be available in Dodge and Jefferson counties. To ensure that access, we partnered with a local group of experienced urology providers who bring many combined years of care to our community.

Urologists specialize in treating conditions of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. With additional providers, we now offer advanced procedures—including robotic-assisted surgery—along with 24/7 emergency urology coverage.

As part of our year-in-review, we’re highlighting moments where we grew to better meet the needs of our community. One of the most significant was the expansion of our Senior Behavioral Health Unit.

In October, Watertown Regional Medical Center expanded its Senior Behavioral Health Unit from 15 beds to 26 beds, increasing access to specialized inpatient mental health care for adults age 55 and older.

This expansion allows us to serve more patients in our community and throughout the state, who are experiencing mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, psychiatric and medical issues related to dementia, acute psychosis or altered mental state, and bipolar illness. All while continuing to provide compassionate, individualized care in a safe and supportive environment.

Meeting mental health needs close to home matters—and this growth reflects our ongoing commitment to caring for the whole person at every stage of life.
