Coach Carrie’s Case Notes 🏃🏾

🗓️Length of Program = 16 weeks
This athlete was consistently running up to 20 miles per week, ahead of the 16 week build

📊 Peak Week Mileage = 43 miles
Running 5 days/week + dedicated cross training 1 day/week

#️⃣ Longest Single Run = 14 miles
“Over-distance” long runs are reserved for experienced competitors; namely when the training focus is a time goal
……………………………………………………..

🎯Other dial movers for THIS athlete:

🏋️‍♀️ Strength training 2x/week

📈 With a healthy history of training and racing, we had a lot of data to help fine tune an assertive training schedule- including distances and intensities that could help him reach his goal while avoiding injury

🤳🏼Consistent 2-way communication- super helpful to manage any needed tweaks in the schedule if the training load was becoming too much

⚡️Monthly coaching calls with this athlete focused on keeping him attentive to making easy days easy.
……………………………………………………..

Q: WHY all these extra details??

A: My best way of answering this not so basic question… “What’s the longest run I need to do for my half marathon?”

Maybe you can relate to some of these details?

⚡️Training for 13.1 looks a little different for everyone

⚡️Personal success, during training AND on event day, requires more than ‘just putting in the miles’

Origin Story

Kathy Molitor Simon and Carrie Truebenbach have a combined 50+ year history as clinicians and PT educators in the Milwaukee area. After years of collaboration, we decided we needed to deliver services our own way! Synchrony PT was developed to share our treatment philosophy of holistic and individualized care. We have come together to enhance the way clients can seek direct access physical therapy care to achieve health and wellness goals.

Kathy Molitor Simon, PT: Kathy received her physical therapy training at UW-LaCrosse. A trusted and caring clinician, Kathy has provided expert care to patients for 38 years. Simultaneously, Kathy has served as a teaching assistant and co-instructor in orthopedics at a local DPT program for the past 10 years. Kathy has expertise in treating orthopedic diagnoses, with a special interest in managing lower extremity conditions.

Carrie Truebenbach, PT, DPT, MS, OCS: Carrie’s passion for activity, particularly running and outdoor sports, led to her interest in a physical therapy career. Carrie’s 20+ year career has included clinical orthopedic and sports medicine practice. She enjoyed an academic position at a local DPT program, which ultimately renewed her spirit to get back to the clinic. Carrie’s clinical practice has included specialty work with endurance athletes, as well as professional dancers. She has held a board-certified orthopedic specialist designation (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association since 2003. As a physical therapy provider, Carrie seeks to motivate clients to unlock their movement and health potential.
