🏡Excellent home, 💁‍♂️dedicated guardians,
🐾enrichment plan in place, training and behavioral work in process, good veterinary on board = a dog that is able to learn, able to relax, and a happier dog.

We are still working, but this is a different dog than I initially started working with months ago. 🥰

Dogs can acquire new skills and new ways to respond to their environment with all the pieces of a good behavior plan in place!

🐾Senior dogs continue to have needs that must be met.

🦮🐕Although their physical capabilities may have slowed down, it is essential to engage in daily activities that enhance their quality of life.

🐾While they may sleep more, physical exercise and mental stimulation are equally, if not more, important now.

🐾Replacing extended walks with shorter, leisurely strolls on a long leash can provide increased sniffing opportunities.

🧠Using treat hiding, food puzzles, and other cognitive challenges can provide mental stimulation, much like crossword puzzles for humans.

It is essential to recognize that senior dogs still have needs and be happy, despite potential declines in thir physical ability.
