September 30th, 2017. 7 years have passed since we lost this special guy and I miss him every single day, but today is especially hard. You are loved and missed by many Max Chamberlin.

We are gearing up for the 4th annual MCO, Max Chamby Open on July 27th.

We have this golf outing to celebrate Max Chamberlin. To remember him, to tell stories and to laugh.

Last year we raised $8000 for the Max Chamberlin Memorial Scholarship fund and donated the money to Waunakee High School, the high school Max attended. The money was equally divided and given to two graduating seniors to further their education.

This money will be donated to Waunakee High School and two seniors from the class of 2024 will receive a scholarship in Max's name. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.

What Happened in the Early Morning Hours of September 30, 2017?

On September 30, 2017 at approximately 3:05am my son was found dead on the pavement at West Sixth, a downtown Tempe apartment he shared with his girlfriend, after falling from a 20th story balcony.

There are many, many questions and inconsistencies surrounding Max’s death. The following are seven things we know to be true about the circumstances concerning his death:

1. Max’s girlfriend and her mother reported to police and Max’s family that he jumped off the balcony because he smoked ma*****na and tweaked. The medical examiner reported that there was no ma*****na found in Max’s system.

2. There is a documented past of physical, verbal and emotional abuse from the girlfriend towards Max. Max’s girlfriend told detectives she had fought with Max prior to his death.

3. Upon looking over the balcony and seeing Max face-down on the pavement, Max’s girlfriend didn’t call 911, she called her mother and spent 5 minutes on that call.

4. The girlfriend and Max bought a 1.75 liter of vodka before arriving home that night. Police photographs show that bottle of vodka 3/4 consumed. The girlfriend reported that they started drinking as soon as they arrived back at their apartment. Max’s blood alcohol content was merely 0.05%, however.

5. Max’s death occurred during the Las Vegas mass shooting and Tempe resources prioritized that investigation, as their department was part of the team that investigated.

6. We had to get the police involved in order to get Max’s laptop back from his girlfriend, which she had for two months after his death. The day his laptop was returned to the Waunakee Police Department we found that files, pictures and videos were missing. His icloud account was purged by someone who had access to it from his computer, so his phone was also wiped of information including countless texts and voice recordings that showcased the abuse of Max by his girlfriend. When we got the laptop restored we found that the deleted files also highlighted the abuse by Max’s girlfriend.

7. Prior to any social media posts, I reached out to Max’s girlfriend and asked if she could talk with me about the night that he died. She refused. Additionally, her mother made it perfectly clear that she would not allow her daughter, the only known witness to my son’s death, to speak to me.
