One Sky Yoga From the stillness found in Yoga, we can feel our deeper connection to each other and the Earth. We truly are all brothers and sisters sharing One Sky

About Kristin (Brouillet) Fischer:
I have been in the fitness industry for about 20 years and hold a Master's of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois. In 2012 when our second daughter was born, I stepped out of the fitness industry full-time in order to soak up life with our daughters while they were small and am beyond grateful for every moment I was able to spend with them. They have taught me more than anything else in life, about myself, about being present, and how to love. During the last ten years, I have continued to stay engaged in the fitness industry teaching group fitness, health coaching and serving as a Subject Matter Expert for the American Council on Exercise. The last decade has been an awakening for me. My eyes are opening to the many injustices of our world, but also to the power of mindfulness and to the hope of transformation, for ourselves and our world. One Sky Yoga was born from this journey. I believe that from the stillness found in Yoga, we can feel our deeper connection to each other and the Earth. We truly are all brothers and sisters sharing One Sky. I hope you’ll join me as a fellow traveler on the journey.

One Sky Yoga will officially be going away, but the energy, love and the hope behind it stands strong.

In the year and half that One Sky Yoga was open at 1510 Underwood Ave, over 150 unique souls graced us with their presence. Within the walls of the studio, we wrapped presents for teens in foster care, made blessing bags for those in need, prayed for peace in Ukraine, had fair trade pop-up shops, hosted a 6-wk equity bookclub, introduced people to yoga, held a 3-part women's series, offered free classes for teachers and the PerSisters, had donation-based classes to help organizations promoting peace and held hundreds of yoga classes for men, women and families from Power Yoga to Stations of the Cross Yoga and everything in between.

With all the good that came out of this community, it is unfortunate that this end was out of my control. While I'm still disheartened, I want to close this amazing chapter of our family's life, move on and look forward to the next exciting adventure, whatever that might be.

For me, the studio was an outpouring of my love for health, wellness, yoga and humanity. I believe that from the stillness found in Yoga, we feel our deeper connection to each other and the Earth and I felt that with every class I taught. We truly are all brothers and sisters sharing One Sky and I am honored to have had the opportunity to journey with so many through One Sky Yoga. I want to say a very heartfelt thank you for all of your support!

Much peace,
Kristin
(& Todd, Reese & Taylor too)

Yes!!! I don’t think I’ve seen this quote before.

@ Chase My Creations is at the Tosa Outpost if you’re in need of some new anti-racist gear.

"In times of crisis, the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe."

Today is the first day of and this quote on our favorite little Justice Chaser’s shirt is so fitting 🫶🏿

In these trying times, are you actively working to build a sense of connectedness, and bridge gaps in access and opportunities within your community? Are you looking after one another? Are you speaking up and out against injustice, and inequity... even if your privilege is at stake?

There is so much we can gain that far outweighs what we think we might lose. It just takes courage, tenacity, and a willingness to build the world we want to see, and the world we deserve. 🖤

We want to encourage our to reflect on their actions; how are you building "bridges" within your community? Tell us in the comments below! 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

What does self-care look like for you?
Allowing myself to rest is some of my best self-care. (Easier said than done in a society that praises productivity.)

If you don’t have the insight timer app, it’s a great one to try!!

Wow, what a year 2023 has been already! I’ve been enjoying a little more rest lately while I heal my tailbone after a skiing incident a few weeks back. I’ve been missing our yoga community, though, and hope to be practicing somewhere somehow soon!
