Every trainer has their own "ideas" on how to socialize their dogs in training by what works for them ,their own tools or styles. Time in the field is how these training styles are developed.
Straight from the book of rules on training 🤔 ( if you know me , that's not how I train~I'm straight up honest with you on what your dog can do and cannot do ,Given TIME for them and the Time you put into training)


This video is social training for the German Shepherd pup.
Short and sweet ~if the Pom pups were not trained to mind their manners, this would have been a barking feast. And Not help this reactive Shepherd . Each dog in the video has a different personality and handles stress and triggers their own way. Adding any dog into a "pack" of untrained dogs can become a disaster.

➡️When do you add different social training skills?
When the Dog in training is Ready~rush and fail.

⚠️Every dog does Not "love" to play with others.
⚠️ Taking your dog to the dog park and letting them run and play free is Not social training.
⚠️ Letting them run up , jump on people is Not social training.

🐾Training help for the "perfect dog"🐾

➡️Does it exist?
🐾NO~this is an opinion of what one feels is the perfect dog.

This picture was taken at a celebration of life for my Dad , last year. His dog was not placed here but this is where he preferred to be. Why? Because he was family and lost a loved one.

🐾Your dog does Not run away from home if they are treated like family! BUT also trained with discipline ~They are not people and have to learn your house rules, not mine~Yours

🐾The perfect Dog ~is a dog that You want it to be!
The one that is trained!!!! Not , pinch collar, not shock collar, not tools ~trained by personality and life style
⚠️But the hard ones (my work load)need to be understood.
Just because it's "THAT BREED" does not mean they can do what you think they should because of the breed. The serious breeders understand this.This is the reason the breeder can categorize their dogs as ~Pet Quality.

➡️showing, herding, dock diving, rally, disc dog, agility, hunting, the list goes on
⚠️ Depending on what you want your dog to do~they mostly start the same way. Boundaries and manners in the first year of life. Those bones and joints need to be solid to move forward. Each discipline (event) or what ever terminology you want to use🤦 because it's all changes😵‍💫


🐾🐾Need help? When you say I need a trainer! Let me guide you on where to turn to , what questions to ask🤔. Many great trainers out there and many abusive ones. Training comes from understanding the dog ~not getting hung up on the "breed" but also breeding and abilities count.
I am a behaviorist/trainer here to educate the ones that want the information. Forty five years experience reading animal behavior ~not from the book ~from all the animals I've worked with. ( Horses, dogs, cats)

The German Shepherd ~I never train by the Rules people think is needed for any said breed. To me it's a dog with a personality and the owner decides what they want out of their dogs.

My goal is to show anyone that any breed CAN find their Calm.
