We’re proud to share that Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center recently became the first site in the United States to use a new cardiovascular ultrasound technology that offers better clinical area and a heightened patient experience.

“This new technology is an incredible feat,” said Dr. Renuka Jain, director of echocardiography and cardiologist at Aurora St. Luke’s. “It features AI-guided automation, better visualization of heart structures, shorter imaging study times and 3D visualization of cardiac anatomy. It will mean a better patient experience and quicker, more accurate diagnosis of cardiac conditions.”

In 1996, just seven weeks apart, two families welcomed their newborns at the former Labor & Delivery department of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center — unaware that these babies would one day meet, fall in love and start a family of their own.

John and Linda, expecting their second child, were eager to meet their baby boy. After a “long, but well-worth-it labor,” Linda recalls, Dr. Amarjit Jaglan, OB-GYN with Aurora Health Care, delivered their son, Zackary.

Meanwhile, Gail, who worked in the surgical department at Aurora St. Luke’s as an anesthesia aide, sought a recommendation for an OB-GYN when she became pregnant. Her colleagues unanimously pointed to Dr. Jaglan for his expertise and compassionate care. At 38 weeks, Gail’s baby was breech. After an attempted external cephalic version, a technique used to turn a baby into a head-down position before birth, it was decided a cesarean section was necessary. Dr. Jaglan remained confident and reassuring. He then delivered Gail and Mark’s healthy baby girl, Shelby.

More than a decade later, Zackary and Shelby’s paths crossed in high school. After dating for a few months, they attended different colleges, but life still brought them back together in 2015. They married in 2021, and in 2024, discovered they were expecting their first child.

For their own delivery, the choice was clear: Aurora West Allis Women’s Pavilion, celebrated for its exceptional maternity care. During a prenatal visit, they met Dr. Jaglan for the first time since their births. Greeting them with a friendly and almost familiar smile, he learned that he had delivered both of them decades earlier. “It’s an absolute blessing,” he says. “In 32 years of practice, this had never happened to me before.”

Shelby’s induction was scheduled, and fate aligned again: Dr. Jaglan was on-call that weekend. When the moment arrived, he told the couple with warmth and humility, “It’s a great day for a birthday party, my friends.” He delivered their son, Graham, welcoming a healthy, bright and curious baby into the world.

Shelby acknowledges the support and compassion she received at Aurora West Allis, particularly from their Labor and Delivery nurse, Josie. She credits the teams for “exceeding every expectation,” making her feel informed and genuinely cared for. “Meeting Dr. Jaglan again was surreal,” she reflects. “The same hands that brought me and my husband into the world were now guiding us as we welcomed our own child. The birth of our baby Graham has brought a kind of love and happiness we never imagined possible.”

Dr. Jaglan shares the sentiment: “To have the privilege of delivering so many children in my career, and now to do so for a second generation, is nothing short of incredible.”

Bringing a new life into the world is a remarkable journey — and our teams are here to ensure families feel supported every step of the way. 💙 Click the link to learn more about our award-winning maternity services: https://bit.ly/44yO923

The Aurora Heart Failure Team at Aurora Medical Center - Grafton reached a remarkable achievement: their 75th CardioMEMS™ implant — a milestone that represents innovation, expertise and lives changed.

The CardioMEMS™ device is a tiny, wireless sensor placed in the pulmonary artery that allows providers to monitor a patient’s heart failure from home. It detects rising pressure before symptoms appear, giving care teams the power to adjust treatment early and help prevent hospitalizations. For patients, that means more stability, more confidence and more days spent living their lives rather than worrying about worsening symptoms.

Each successful implant reflects hours of collaboration among physicians, nurses, techs and support staff committed to delivering trailblazing heart care close to home. Their dedication is transforming the way we manage heart failure: quietly, progressively and with extraordinary skill.

Thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible. Your expertise and compassion are reshaping the future of cardiovascular care for our communities.

And at 75 implants… we’re just getting started. ❤️

Michele’ began her nursing journey after graduating from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1986. Her early experiences in medical-surgical and telemetry units eventually led her to discover her true calling: pediatrics.

Michele’ has shared the last decade of compassionate care with Dr. Sarah Gaethke while at Aurora Pediatrics — Grafton. She credits Dr. Gaethke for her “caring heart and devotion to her patients,” which she is inspired by every day.

Beyond her dedication to patients and families, Michele’ has been a steady and trusted teammate. She has managed pediatric department staffing, launched the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program at Cedar Creek, handled immunization ordering and medication management and helped build and develop the Cedar Creek Spirit Committee as one of the founding members.

Through every chapter, Michele’ has embodied loyalty, excellence and heart.

“I have devoted my nursing career to pediatrics and this organization,” she says. “I love all the babies and children and have been devoted to keeping them safe from childhood diseases, educating their parents and families and being part of their story. I have always strived to provide caring, safe and excellent healthcare.”

Michele’ credits her parents for being the backbone of her journey, always supporting her with love and encouragement. As she looks forward to spending more time with her mother, three children and three grandchildren we celebrate her decades of empathy and unwavering commitment to children and their families.

This December, Michele’ celebrates an incredible milestone — her 36th anniversary with Aurora Health Care, and the beginning of her well-earned retirement.

Thank you, Michele’, for 36 years of exceptional care and dedication. Your Aurora Health Care family wishes you all the best in your next chapter! ❤️

Being on the receiving end of the compassionate care my dad received while hospitalized inspired me to provide that same compassionate care every day for my patients.”
