A College soccer player felt a pop and pain in his hip as he kicked the ball. My partner Dr. Brandon Kakos identified a rare quadriceps avulsion from the hip with an ultrasound, confirming the diagnosis with a mri.

The quadriceps tendon had torn and retracted eight cm down his thigh, causing pain, weakness, and an inability to play soccer at a high level.

In the operating room, my hip specialist partner Dr. Alex Hamilton created a perfect anterior approach and found the torn tendon, which I sutured and repaired anatomically back to its origin on the bone.

Sam Ellis researched and developed the post-operative protocol and the patient and his amazing family followed it perfectly as he worked with physical therapy for six months before he returned to soccer and started at Tiffin University.

Truly a team effort led to this young athletes success.

This former big ten football player sustained a complete tear to his quadriceps tendon.

We used a non-absorbable suture and anchor fixation construct for the strongest possible repair.

After three months of physical therapy, he is back working out, playing with his kids, and enjoying life.

This gentleman had a painful knee and shoulder that prevented him from doing the activities that he loved.

We performed a partial knee replacement and a arthroscopic shoulder subacromial decompression.

With days of each surgery he was swinging a golf club, after a few weeks he was back playing eighteen holes, and by the two month marker he was skiing.

This high school cheerleader sustained an elbow dislocation that did not heal with non-operative treatment.
She had continued medial instability, and required a medial ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction.

I used the same technique used on major league pitchers, A Tommy John reconstruction with the addition of internal brace suture.

This new additional suturing has allowed baseball players to return to play in 4-6 months, instead of the previous 12-15 months.

She did great with physical therapy and returned to sideline cheer within two months and competitive cheer with tumbling and gymnastics in four months.

Her high school team won the state championship in cheerleading with her as the star flyer.
