⭐ Scrubbing into Success: Nurse Resident Spotlight ⭐

Say hello to LaShonda Frye, an energetic and passionate nurse resident delivering exceptional care in our Emergency Department! 💚

LaShonda is an Army Veteran, and we extend our heartfelt thanks for her service to our country. Today, she continues that legacy of service by bringing compassion, courage, and dedication to her role at Lexington Health, helping us fulfill our mission to meet the needs of our community with excellence and heart.

LaShonda graduated from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and brings incredible life experience to her role. She was inspired to become a nurse after deploying with her MEDEVAC unit to Afghanistan, where she worked alongside incredible flight nurses and medics. Those experiences fueled her passion for helping others and prepared her to thrive in the fast-paced world of emergency care.

Her story with us actually started a few years ago back in 2022, when she attended our very first Nurse Residency Social and even won our stethoscope giveaway! It's such a full circle moment to now see her caring for patients each day in our emergency department.

When she's not on the clock, you can find her traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and daughter. Her comfort food of choice? A delicious loaded baked potato, simple, cozy, and always satisfying!✈️📖🥔

Fun facts:
🎏 LaShonda graduated high school in Okinawa, Japan.
🐾She has a Cane Corso named Nino who keeps life extra fun!
☀️ If she could travel anywhere, she'd choose Aruba or Belize for some sunshine and relaxation.
She also described herself in three emojis - ☺️🤓📚, a perfect reflection of her warm personality, love for learning and reading, and her upbeat spirit!

When asked what advice she'd give to new nurse residents, LaShonda shared this piece of wisdom:

"Everyone was new at one point. Always ask questions. Focus on doing the job thoroughly and safely, the confidence will come."

In the month of November, Lexington Health is honored to feature veterans from across all branches of service that work across our network of care. Today, we honor three employees and their service, stories and sacrifice.

- Rachel Lewis (RNC-OB in Labor & Delivery) Rachel is retired US Army Reserve after serving 13 years. She is proud of her service and says the most rewarding part of her military experience was the people. She still remains friends with her old unit and keeps up with them over social media. "LMC has been my home for almost two decades - I've been hooked on this place since delivering here 20 years ago!" Rachel has two sons and enjoys crocheting and reading in her spare time.

- Aaron Keith Faile (Licensed Mechanical Contractor in Facilities)
Aaron completed 6 years of service in the US Navy from 1978-1984. Across his years of service, Aaron encountered 3 major deployments to the Mediterranean, rescued crews from a sinking Greek freighter and was the recipient of the US Navy Expeditionary Medal for engaging the enemy on foreign soil. Aaron has been with Lexington Health for 5 years and works as a certified HVAC technician. "This is the best job I have had in my career. My managers and supervisors treat me with respect and allow me the privilege to advance my skills and help train others." He has been married to his wife, Nita, for the past 45 years and has 2 children and 1 grandson.

- Keanta M. Hilton (Business Office Associate at Lexington Pediatrics - West Columbia)
Keanta is a veteran with the Army Guard and served 9 years. The most rewarding part of her service was the fellowship and growing with people. She has been with Lexington Health for 3 years working as a Business Office Associate at Lexington Pediatrics - West Columbia. "I love being apart of an organization that values employees and supports growth!"

We thank these three extraordinary individuals for their dedication to our patients and service to our country.

⭐We're Hiring: Senior Internal Auditor ⭐

Lexington Health is looking for a seasoned audit professional to join our Internal Audit Department. This impactful role delivers independent assurance and advisory services to enhance governance, risk management, and internal controls across finance, operations, compliance, and IT.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years in internal audit/public accounting or 3+ years in healthcare audit
- CPA Preferred
- Currently have, or obtain within 12 months of hire, one of the
following: CIA, CPA (preferred), CHIAP, CFE, CISA, or related certification.
- Strong healthcare audit experience; mid-to-large hospital background a plus
