I completed my undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona and proceeded to medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. I then completed my training and residency in Michigan, becoming Board Certified in Family Medicine. I then found my true passion and obtained advanced certification in Age Management Medicine and Hormonal Optimization so that I could help restore people's sense of self and vitality so they could truly LIVE their life and not just exist.

Longevity and Lifestyle medicine addresses hormone optimization, but also LIFE optimization, including trauma informed care/modalities to help you BE the fully realized and actualized version of you, the pure essence of YOU.

One of the modalities I’ve used personally, and recommend to others, for various reasons(trauma release, brain health, ADHD symptoms, anxiety/depression symptoms) is neurofeedback. A lot of the Biohacking world uses this for focus/brain health optimization, which is great, andddd…it’s imperative to look at the overall picture to best integrate the work done, including body work/somatic work. Truly, where science meets soul, leading to ultimate liberation and Whole Being Embodiment💫

***There is no “ONE” thing that helps you access this, it’s very personal, individual, and self-guided…your body knows the way, with each modality being introduced when it’s ready. Restoring a sense of agency is key. With so many videos and “experts” out there, it can be very confusing and overwhelming to know where/how to start…listen to your own inner knowing, there is great wisdom there🤍

I continue to see the same epigenetic patterns…restricted, advanced aging lungs…people aren’t breathing deeply, there’s no time, the other shoe’s about to drop, they’re stuck in hyper functioning mode, rather than BE mode, radical presence. While we may not live in the story of what shapes our survival mechanisms, how we operate in the world, the story still lives in our body, our fascia. The good news, it can be released! Andddd, it improves not only your mobility, less pain(if you have pain). It significantly impacts your longevity…and is completely within your control, within as little as 3 months!!! We often think we need to push harder, do more cardio(which does have its benefits), but our body eventually will BEG for stillness, and release. Unwinding the muscles and fascia is key to this release, and ultimately nervous system regulation…finally moving from survival mode to fully present and thriving mode. Yin/restorative yoga and breathwork are a couple things to add to your weekly regimen. You’ll see and feel tangible results in just one session. I encourage you to try softer for a change, and be profoundly surprised🤍

Longevity, not just about life span, but health span, vitality span, and truly LIVING with full on Agency over your own life and body. Epigenetic testing is a way of visualizing/quantifying the health of your different organ systems and the effects diet, lifestyle, stressors have on them. In simple terms, epigenetics is like a “director” for your genes, controlling whether they are turned on or off without changing the DNA “script” itself. Behaviors and environmental factors, such as diet, stress, and lifestyle, cause chemical modifications to the DNA and associated proteins, which alters gene activity and influences your health. These epigenetic changes do not alter the DNA sequence but can affect how your body reads and uses the genes.

Key word, “script”…we can change the “script” at any point/age, and can show measurable results in your own actions (regardless of what was handed down to you) within a matter of months. Trauma in particular causes accelerated aging, and affects specific organ systems(lungs/decreased lung function with PTSD, among other things). The key component is AGENCY/choice over what happens next, with your own body, a pivotal concept for people with a history of trauma (in particular mental/emotional/psychological/physical/sexual).

So often we do the meditation, journaling, eating clean/exercising and we feel better, and now there’s a way to show you the tangible results of your inner work actually shifting your inner world/healthspan.

For many people, more often women, as long as we’re functioning and getting all the things done, we don’t seek more. This testing shows that your life literally DEPENDS on you listening to all those whispers from your body of fatigue/overwhelm/insomnia/anxiety/brain fog/hair loss/dry vagina/etc.

Take time to prioritize yourself, your well being, your inner and outer landscape…remember to put the oxygen mask on yourself first before helping others🤍

October is National Domestic Violence awareness month, but this message is timeless.

Emotional/psychological/mental abuse causes brain damage the equivalent(and sometimes worse) to physical abuse, and subsequently also affects the systems of children in the household as well. This can continue in what’s known as “post separation abuse”, so it’s imperative to get a support system and know you’re not alone. If something feels off in your home/relationship, please speak up (to someone safe, a therapist/practitioner/hotline). You deserve to feel safe, seen, and celebrated, in your home, and in life. I see you and support you🤍

Honoring the cycles of ourselves is so key, to getting out of survival mode or stuckness, to radical self acceptance, to living a truly liberated life outside of what you or anyone else thinks it “should” look like. We’re not machines, we’re meant to rest, to flow, to actually enjoy this gift of life we’re given, now…not “someday”. Be kind to yourself on the days you’re not feeling it…that’s your soul asking for a rest. Instead of trying harder, try softer.

Women are sold this false narrative about “the change” and that when your cycle is done then that’s it, but the reality is, you soul has a cycle, your heart has a cycle, and your hormones are still cycling too. It’s more than just the end of your period. Anddd, for younger women, with an irregular cycle, because of PCOS or otherwise, it’s even more imperative to tune in to these internal cycles, and not just be put into a in the box diagnoses and medicated(birth control, anti depressants) with things that make things worse, and disconnect you from yourself. It’s more than ok to advocate for more for yourself, you deserve it.
