I’m Debbie Roppo, a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach and speaker. My work centers around a simple truth. The body and mind that carry your life deserve the same care and attention as everything you are responsible for. Over the years I’ve worked with women navigating changing energy, shifting priorities, and the growing responsibilities that come with life and leadership. What I’ve seen again and again is that vitality, clarity, and steadiness don’t happen by accident. They are supported by the systems we build in our daily lives. That idea eventually became the foundation of what I call the Inner Empireā„¢. The outer life we build, our families, work, purpose, and contributions, is only as strong as the inner one that sustains it. Here you’ll find conversations about energy, habits, resilience, and strengthening the foundation that carries the lives we lead. Most women call them symptoms.

Hot flashes.
Fatigue.
Brain fog.

In the Inner Empireā„¢, we call them signals.

And most women?

They see it… and keep going.

Because life is full.
People depend on you.
There’s no time to stop.

So you push past it.

But your body doesn’t just ā€œact up.ā€

It communicates.

And if you don’t understand where it’s coming from…
you keep repeating the same cycle.

You can call it aging.

That’s the easy answer.

But I’ve seen too many women living fully well into later years to believe that.

It’s not age.

It’s whether you respond… or ignore.

This is the work I do.

I’m curious…

Here’s the part about coffee most people don’t realize.

Caffeine blocks adenosine, the chemical your brain uses to tell you you’re tired.

So you feel alert… even though your body hasn’t actually recovered.

At the same time, it increases dopamine and cortisol, which is why it feels like energy.

But it’s not creating energy.

It’s masking fatigue.

Do that often enough, and the body doesn’t get clear signals for rest, repair, and recovery.

That’s where long-term health starts to matter.

I love coffee too.

Just understanding it differently.

Curious…

Do you feel truly energized… or just able to keep going?

Recently had an interview with John Stiles and it was one of those conversations you walk away from feeling energized.

Great questions.
Great flow.
The kind of space where you can really talk about what you do and why it matters.

We touched on some different aspects of health that don’t always get talked about, and I loved being able to go there.

Honestly, just a really cool experience.

Grateful for the conversation… and excited for you to hear it when it drops.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Hot flashes aren’t random.

They start in the brain.

As estrogen declines, the body’s temperature control system becomes more sensitive. Small changes can trigger a big response.

That’s the hormonal shift.

Now add blood sugar swings and cortisol spikes…

And the reaction can feel even stronger.

So it’s not one or the other.

It’s both.

Two simple ways to support your body here:

• Prioritize protein early, eggs, Greek yogurt, or a protein smoothie
• Pair carbs with fat or protein, think apple with almond butter, not carbs alone

Curious…

Do your symptoms feel the same every day, or do they fluctuate?

Last night at Elevate… and this happened.

We had no idea how fast the camera was going to go.

No time to fix anything.
No time to ā€œget it right.ā€

Just click.

And honestly… it ended up being the best photo of the night.

We laughed so hard after.

Because this is what most women would delete.

Not polished.
Not perfect.
Not ā€œput together.ā€

But it’s real.

And that’s the point.

So many women are holding themselves back waiting to feel ready… or look a certain way… or have it all figured out.

Meanwhile, life is happening.

This isn’t about perfection.

It’s about showing up.

Messy.
Unsure.
A little scared.

And doing it anyway.

I’m curious…

Where are you holding back because it’s not ā€œperfectā€ yet?

Hot take.

It’s not your personality that changed. It's getting unveiled!

There’s a real shift happening in the brain during this phase. Neural pruning. The brain starts letting go of what it no longer needs, which can feel like fog, frustration, or less tolerance.

And at the same time…

I see this pattern often.

Long gaps between meals, quick carbs, running on caffeine… all of that can amplify the swings.

So now you have both happening.

A brain refining… and a body trying to stabilize.

When the body feels supported, things start to steady.

Mood.
Focus.
Decisions.

I’m curious…

Have you noticed certain habits make this phase feel harder or easier?

I love coffee, so I’m saying this with respect and a tiny bit of sadness :(

It’s not giving you energy the way you think.

Caffeine blocks adenosine, the signal that tells your brain you’re tired. So you feel alert, but you’re really just overriding fatigue.

At the same time, it increases dopamine, which is why it feels so good, and cortisol, which is why it can feel a little… intense.

When hormones shift, the brain becomes more sensitive to that stimulation.

So what used to feel smooth can start to feel jittery, anxious, or like a crash waiting to happen.

Nothing wrong with coffee.

Just different feedback from the body.

Three simple things that can help support this:

• Drink water first
• Have a little food before coffee
• Wait a bit and let your natural cortisol rhythm, guided by the brain and pituitary, wake you up first

Curious…

Have you noticed your coffee hitting differently lately?

Most women don’t start.

Not because they’re lazy.
Because they’re overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin.

So they wait.

They overthink.
They try to figure it out alone.
They tell themselves they’ll start when it’s clearer.

And that moment rarely comes.

I see this all the time.

The women who actually move forward?

They stop trying to do it perfectly and stop trying to do it alone.

Curious…

What usually stops you, not knowing where to start… or trying to get it right first?

Everyone celebrates the bloom.

Almost no one talks about the fight it took to get there.

The pressure under the soil.
The darkness before the light.
The slow push upward that no one sees.

Growth rarely arrives looking graceful.

Sometimes it looks messy, uncomfortable, even confusing.

Yet that pressure is often what creates the strength.

I see this season in many women right now.

More awareness.
Less tolerance for what drains them.
A deeper honesty about what actually matters.

Curious…

Has this phase of life felt more like pressure, or transformation for you?

A lot of women tell me something interesting happens in this phase of life.

Their thinking changes.

For many women, it can feel frustrating or unfamiliar.

Researchers have been looking closely at this. Estrogen interacts with brain chemistry, including dopamine and serotonin, which influence focus, memory, and motivation.

When those signals shift, the brain can reorganize how it processes information.

What feels unsettling at first sometimes becomes something else entirely… clearer priorities and sharper discernment.

I’m curious what others have experienced.

Have you noticed any changes in how your mind works in recent years?
