If you need a calendar to tell you the cause of the month, then it likely doesn’t afflict or effect you. I keep hearing the weights aren’t therapy but here they are. Is it the healthiest way to purge? Not really but I’m not drowning in a bottle or blunting my thoughts with pills. I’d say it’s healthier than many alternatives and the only person who’s affected by this is me. So go choose violence or whatever dumb s**t makes you feel cool this month. I’ll stick to what’s kept me sane the last 29 years and alive.

Five minutes into deadlift and chill. Lifting to favorite dad rock band “Five flavored fruit punch”. You know it’s chill because I kept my pants on and moved slow đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž now back on the road for 4.5 hours. I’m not ignoring you... well some of you 😏

Every parent (the good ones at least) give their kids the talk about wants versus needs. In order to get what you want you first must do what you need. I wanted five reps but clearly I’m not meeting all my needs to get there. That’s 100% on me. There are always things I or you can control better. One is your mindset. If you are fixated on wether you had a good or bad session you setting your self up for failure. Simply focus on wether you are doing what is needed and let the work earn the results. Now off on a plane to 👋

Lots of strong and funny people packed into tonight. Trained 6 straight days, squatted yesterday and pulls right after the plane. Effort over excuses people. This is fun for me. Thanks to everyone here tonight.

In Hans Selye’s General adaptation Syndrome model there are three stages. Alarm stage, resistance stage and exhaustion. Currently squatting and deadlifting, or one over the other 6 days a week. Both due to travel, events and bench on the shelf. I’m somewhere in the alarm stage at the moment. I didn’t need a study to tell me that. I’ve just paid attention to my body and push recovery just as hard as the workouts. For example I will go on a two mile recovery walk after posting this. When I can’t beat thecreos or work I’m in resistance stage SBD I’ll deload. I never want to reach the alarm stage. But we want to come pretty close.
