Quick "poll" that I'm also going to post to my personal page...
1. How much does location matter to you when you're looking for a high quality pup?
2. Would the Garden still be an option if we relocated about 50 miles away. (Closer to Richmond, VA because of work and school)
Nothing would change about our bloodlines, health testing, the quality of sires we use, or really any our principles, policies and procedures. We would just be setting ourselves up for success in more areas and endeavors than we currently experience.
Looking for ALL feedback, positive or negative, just so its honest! 😊

The Golden Garden, Naomi and I, would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah this year! May your gifts be blessings throughout the whole year and all your days filled with joy!
This was our 10th year breeding though we had only one litter. Next year will be better planned and we'll be bringing happiness to more families.
Didn't get to send holiday greeting cards as life has been hectic on this end. I'm still working 11-12 hour days and at least one day during the weekends. Naomi is still at VCU full time and working full time as well.
We said goodbye to our precious matriach, Chloe Rose Donath which was truly devastating in every way. She changed our lives and it was a long, difficult journey with her at the end.
Haven't had pups this fall/winter, but here's a throwback of adorableness! We're planning a litter soon but waiting on mother nature. Spring is coming and pups will be here too!
Again, blessings to all and keep on smiling...you'll never see a Golden without a smile for long!
This beautiful, spunky little girl still hasn't found her forever home. She's the perfect playmate, zooming around and boofing. She also has taken after her Great Grandma Indie in watching TV. She's very smart and independent, so she's been doing her own thing and seems to get looked over. :-( If anyone thinks they would be able to worship this little princess please get in touch. She's the only pup left from the Axel x Tink litter.

The Garden has been a little busy… loving on babies!

Someone's getting a biiiiig belly! Almost time for xrays to get a head count and then a little belly shave before whelping.
Tink is going to be the most awesome mama ever! Her mom, Maggie, was an amazing mom before retiring and it's definitely in Tink's nature too!
Can't wait to see the new babies!!! 😍

Lovers, Promoters and Supporters of Golden Retrievers
We LOVE Golden Retrievers!
Big ones. Little ones. Light ones. Dark ones. Skinny ones. Chonky ones. Old ones. Young Ones. We love this breed in every size, shape and color!
We’re a small family breeder in a small family community. Life is little slower paced and relatively wholesome here in West Point, VA. There’s an abundance of history. It rains too much. The schools are tops in the state. The paper mill smell is unmistakable. We’re home to the infamous “Crab Carnival” and the enrichment available and community events are such that many small towns envy the lifestyle available here. Overall, not a bad place to spend our days.
Our dogs are family and treated as such. Spoiled a little...but never too much. lol They love to swim at our little beach in town. The girls are bred only at maturity, 18 months minimum, but likely closer or beyond 24 months. Each mom has one litter per year, and the health and well being is our most important indicator for the decision to have puppies.
Each of our girls (breeding or not) has full DNA testing as well as OFA clearances as soon as they’re mature enough for the results to be recognized. (For example, hip and elbow results aren’t considered reliable until two years of age). We use a high quality nutritional supplement for our dogs and puppies from conception in order to promote the best possible growth - healthy bones, skin, teeth, eyes and a strong immune system. Our babies are born in our home and had raised, socialized and weaned one on one. We provide health guarantees as well as include the AKC registration and microchipping with lifetime monitoring with every pup.
We strive to give back to our community - on a small, more local scale (please see article) but also with our donations to the non-profit organization, Semper K9, providing service dogs for disabled veterans.
