Attempting to bottle this most wonderful essence up somehow! Lilac fragrance fills me with a bittersweetness: I'm so in love when when I inhale but simultaneously saddened by how fleeting their presence is! Let's see if I can extend the season a bit with an extraction to flavor beverages with lilac for months to come.

Concocted a few different blends to aide with summer hydration! These herbal shrubs are technically drinking vinegars, which probably made half of you stop reading right there! They are a blend of herbs extracted into raw honey and ACV, then just a dash is added to sparkling water or your beverage pairing of choice to boost electrolytes and add minerals to your bloodstream. You can't actually taste the vinegar at all, just a balance of tart and sweet...hopefully that peice of knowledge pulls you back in!

This one below is holy basil (tulsi) & hibiscus 🌸

Celebrating the first harvest! Focusing on another from one of our favorite plant families: Lamiaceae (mint)! Melissa officianalis or Lemon balm is kind of a cure-all herb due to its wide array of properties. Being a relaxing diaphoretic, it can be used from anything to helping certain fevers if inducing sweating is desired, to helping with a bout of insomnia with its calming nervine properties. It's also a strong antiviral that's especially known for its abilities to fight herpes zoster... so for shingles, chicken pox or just a pesky cold sore, a lemon balm salve is the way to go!

So here we harvested a bunch and slightly wilted it for use in an oil infusion and a vodka tincture. From there, we'll be making a salve and lip balm, some cordial, some jelly, some oxymel (herbal honey), and some herbed butter. And that's just the first harvest. Much more fun to be had with the next two harvests to come 😁
