Day Services focus on developing life and pre-voc skills by volunteering and community activities. Cares of Western PA is an organization providing person-centered and community based services for individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism. We specialize in connecting our participants with opportunities in their communities.

Last week, some of our VIPs went on a once in a lifetime adventure through our Chaperoned Vacations program! This was Cares of Western PA’s first cruise and it did not disappoint! The group started in NYC and cruised north, visiting Boston, Rhode Island, Maine, and Halifax before returning to NYC! They saw all the sites, made lots of memories, tried all the food and had the best time! 🚢⚓️☀️

Today was our VIP appreciation picnic and it left us in awe of how amazing all of our VIPs are. It was a beautiful day celebrating them and the accomplishments they’ve achieved over this past year. One big accomplishment is volunteering over 26,000 hours for their local communities last fiscal year! 🎉

We are blessed to have amazing employees that made this day come together! From planning and coordinating to manning craft stations, yard games and more, this event would not have been possible without all of you!

We would also like to thank Be a Light dance & fitness for bringing her light to share with our VIPs, Coach Dave Gray of CDG Sports Events for bringing his positivity and extraordinarily fun games, and Chris Belin Drums for bringing an amazing assortment of drums and other instruments for our VIPs to play during our drum circle! Lastly, we would like to thank Mission BBQ Robinson Township and Kona Ice for catering!

Our Providers and Employees commitment to our VIP’s living rewarding and enriching lives makes a difference every day. Their kindness, compassion, and dedication in all that they do is truly inspiring.
